Defund the police? What does this mean?
Some define it as redirecting a percentage of the police budget toward other areas, such as mental health supports and community programs, perhaps even creating non-police response teams to deal with emergencies.
To others, like Sandy Hudson, who co-founded Black Lives Matter Toronto, "defund the police" means ultimately dismantling the entire police "service", and replacing it with something different. She doesn't say what we'll replace it with, she just wants the police gone.
Perhaps she wants a "new" sort of law enforcement staffed entirely by Social Justice Warriors, armed or not. We just don't know, because the "Defund the Police" movement are not being entirely honest with us as to their future plans.
The fact that no one knows exactly what "defund the police" means is reason enough to reject the idea.
Here's another reason: "defund the police" will only lead to lawless anarchy and a criminal society.
Furthermore, reducing police resources, or eliminating them altogether, will have a disproportionately bad effect on lower socioeconomic areas, where there is typically more crime.
We need law and order in our streets, and that requires a well-funded, well-trained police presence.
I understand that many Canadians who are rushing to support the sentiment of "Defund the Police" are not radical left Antifa sympathizers. Most Canadians—myself included—are horrified by the murder of George Floyd. This does not mean that "all police" are guilty of his murder.
In Canada this past week, we have heard Chief Allan Adam of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation come forward with allegations that he was brutally beaten by RCMP officers in Fort McMurray, Alberta on March 10. If this is true, it is of course completely unacceptable. But this does not mean that "all RCMP" are guilty of physically abusing indigenous Canadians.
To take isolated incidents—even a number of them—and to ascribe the guilt of a few onto the many is wrong. In fact, it is the sort of phenomena that leads to racial, religious, and other kinds of prejudice in the first place.
Only through lawlessness and instability can the radical left foment the unrest they need to overthrow a system they castigate as being inherently evil and replace it with a totalitarian system that actually is inherently evil.
The next step is to reduce or abolish police presence in Canadian neighbourhoods.
If the "defund the police" people mean "reform" or "improve" the police, they should say so.
A strong Canada needs a strong police institution.
What Canada doesn't need, and what we should all fight back against, are radical leftist ideologues whose goals are the erosion of law, the advent of anarchy, and the end of Canada as we know it.
It's a coordinated effort that has agents at all levels in society and which capitalizes on misfortune. In April, they used the pandemic as an excuse to release into society more than 2,000 inmates, some of whom had been jailed for violent crimes.

Private security contractor Denise Bamba remembers the point last week when she couldn't get off the telephone.
It was the Monday after weekend protests occurred in downtown Seattle over the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd. Fortress Security Services, co-owned by Bamba and her husband, Deschamps, was besieged by local businesses seeking armed guards to protect their property.
"My phone shows I logged more than 200 calls that day,'' said Denise Bamba, adding the couple turned down numerous requests because the company didn't have enough guards.
Other security companies also reported an uptick in protection requests from businesses of all sizes and residential complexes downtown, in Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square and even Redmond, West Seattle and Tukwila. Fueling the surge, they say, are fears police consumed with controlling protests won't prioritize property protection.

At least two people were shot and one was killed inside Seattle's Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) area early Saturday morning, and police say they are investigating despite it being in a "no-cop" zone of the city.
Videos recorded Saturday morning show volunteer medics scrambling to help the purported victims after Seattle Police Department radio dispatchers received multiple reports of three to six gunshots around 2:20 a.m.
People involved in the incident were seen fleeing the scene north from 10th Avenue and East Pine street in the city's Capitol Hill autonomous protest zone, also called CHAZ.
Seattle Police abandoned the closest East Precinct building on June 8th after days of confrontations with protesters in the wake of George Floyd's death while in the custody of Minneapolis police.

Isn't it a sheer coincidence that as soon as these soyboys were on the front lawn of Seattle mayor's home, the bulldozers were called in the next day?
CHOP overplayed their hand on that one. These MSM types were salivating for Trump to send in the guards so they can paint him as a "fascist", but the soyboys got overconfident started stepping on the wrong toes along the way. Apparently they tried (and failed) to set one up in Washington as well.

Seattle Department of Transportation crews on Tuesday began removing concrete barriers marking the entrance to the area protesters are calling the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, or CHOP.
A crew used heavy machinery to remove the concrete barriers at 10th and East Pine Street. Seattle Police officers were also at the scene to assist crews in case protesters intervened.

Maybe that is the approach us citizens should take, when our politicians pander to the mob, and not us law abiding citizens, we should take it to their front door.

Remember in January, the gun rights rally? I think the number was 22,000 people attended, right at the doorstep of the capitol. It was peaceful, all had guns, folks even picked up trash. One arrest was made.... someone wearing a mask because they wouldnt remove it lol, go figure. Well what happened, our governor passed the laws anyway.
How many protesters are there now? Destroying property, attacking officers and such? Couple hundred or so by day, then it gets unruly at night especially, with possibly a couple thousand. And this is the crowd THEY are pandering to!!!
Makes no sense. We need that 20,000 crowd back! And chase these fuckers off and then hoot and holler on the Governor and Mayor's door step!!!
