You are quite wrong about that. Some of the places I venture into don't have a lot of people at all... In fact, there are usually none at all. Nobody. Which is good, since most of those old mining/service roads are only wide enough for one vehicle in most places.
In one way it's nice to have the entire area to yourself, but on the other hand if something goes wrong it could be a long, long walk out.

Husky and Stihl both make professional grade saws also, but they also have the cheaper homeowner versions also.
A pro-grade Stihl, which seems to the choice of professional timber cutters around here, is certainly not a 'plastic toy'!

Good choice on the saw. Quality is worth paying for.
So far it has been OK! It's not a pro-grade saw, instead more on the upper end of the 'homeowner' line of saws, but it has handled the use I've thrown at it without troubles so far...
It's a bit heavy for limbing, and a bit underpowered for the really big stuff, but I make it work! Ideally a guy should have two saws for those purposes.

I don't believe that at all. He's not unhinged. He is lonely, starved for attention, self-destructive and angry. Much of this, especially his anger and self-destructive tendencies are due to childhood trauma. As a child he was a neglected and most likely abused emotionally and probably physically as well. It has shaped him into a broken adult. Of course he would deny this as he doesn't like to examine or admit he has problems. He builds delusions around himself to cover for it.
Mel is emotionally crippled and he is not dangerous from a societal point of view. He is perfectly functional and most likely in the real world outwardly exhibits nothing that would say otherwise...Any danger he presents is to himself. The other two, Little Eddie and Richard are both societal liabilities and they are enabled by family and other sources that I will not discuss here. In a perfect world both would be institutionalized.

Mel got criticized for locking down his forum because he incessantly bragged about how other forums would do that exact same thing when he disturbed the peace....Unfortunately he was generally wrong about the other forums. It was just a way for him to beat his chest and blow smoke up his own skirt.
He's damn lucky that he hasn't been called out more about that shit.And for the record, I think turning off guest posting just to spite Mel is a bad idea.There is a mod here is there not? I don't generally need to cut up trees unless it's blocking my road. Even a small electric chainsaw would serve the purpose. Score some of the sides and drive a steel wedge in till it breaks, then tow it sideways.
Keep a handsaw, axe, and hatchet in the vehicle but never needed more than an axe to get by....but I am getting older and I also can't be fussed.

I had a monster John Deere that was a hand-me-down from my dad. It was a bitch to start and waaaay too much blower for the work it needed to do around here. I sold it and bought the Ariens last fall. Its a 24" with 6 speeds forward, 2 speed reverse. It has a dumbass headlight in case I want to blow snow in the dark,...like that's going to happen..
I only used it once last winter because the winter was so mild. In fact I don't even think I ran the oil burner last year. I heated the house with the pellet and wood stoves exclusively.
