Gary Oak must be having some bad flashbacks from being beaten by those Chinese boxers. It took ya a lot less than five minutes to learn a little Chinese back then, didn't it Gary?

I don't understand any of these even I've pronounced these sets of letters by mandarin or cantonese

They would be pronounced in English. It's having fun with Chinese speaker's broken English.

Hu Yu Hai Ding = Who You Hiding

Keeps, I'm Chinese and I am not offended by this post at all. On the other hand Gary Oak's retardation is quite another matter.

I don't know either. I just feel that some kids are very irritated as the dickens because they often ruin the mood of a joke by asking why.

yeah I've got her point. but I checked the definition of this word that is "used when asking questions to express annoyance or surprise". it seems having no association with looking by any means

not really no. I'm practising English by self-learning. It includes watching news everyday, reading books, browsing posts and leaving comments on forum, talking with people in English a day a week, and getting to school a day a week. I hoped I can get into UBC next year if there is any possibility, but now it seems too soon to make this decision

I know Vancouver can be a hard place for Chinese to become fluent in English, but you should try and step outside your comfort zone.

BTW, does this mean you are not going to Saskatoon next year to study veterinary medicine?

the faculty of science in UBC requires applicants to satisfy the admission with physics 12 in high-school which is exactly what I haven't taken. Not even physics 11. I have to spend 4 more months to study physics until finishing 12 with marks more than 80%

I'm not afraid of studying physics but of wasting time to study. to study pre-veterinary course in U of SA seems easier than in UBC. If it is really so after I consulted to the adviser in U of SA, I'll move to SA by March next year.

I didn't expect that the major about Biology that I'm gonna study has something to do with physics. I thought that the pre-vet course didn't require physics.

Jaysings, I read your posts and it looks to me you have the English pretty much down pat. Is it hard to verbalize English as apposed to writing it. I mean as I type im saying the words out loud. <--- okay that was weird.

that's the common issue in every English learner. I haven't handled this way that well as u do because my speaking is much slower than writing.

Congratulations jaysings, I know you will be very successful.

the faculty of science in UBC requires applicants to satisfy the admission with physics 12 in high-school which is exactly what I haven't taken.

Why is physics mandatory jaysings?

I don't know either. :?

Quote from: "Gary Oak"Should we allow people to enter Canada who refer to us as GWAILO ?

Curious. Only Gary Oak and Rambo Wong use the term "gwailo" and they both put spaces between question marks and the ends of sentences.

Common Cantonese term. The space thing, don't know and don't care. RW's posts are retarded.

Unless you live in Richmond, the chances of that are zilch.

Hadn't thought about it, but maybe that thin-skinned nutcase did fancy Fash. I always thought he thought Fash was a little 98 lb Hitler.

One of the two biggest idiots that have ever posted on this forum. The other would be EU, but Odinson is giving these two a a run for their money.

Anybody that doesn't like Fash has got problems.
