A recently-released Harvard CAPS-Harris poll shows a majority of voters in favor of Republicans controlling the U.S. Senate.
With President-elect Joe Biden set to occupy the Oval Office in January, 56% of voters presumably prefer a divided government with a GOP-led Senate, according to polling data released Monday to The Hill.
The remaining 44% want to see Democrats control the Upper Chamber, a feat which can only be accomplished by winning both Senate seats up for grabs in Georgia's January 5 runoff election.

New York Activists Are Buying Ubers For Georgia Voters To Get To The Polls
Liberal activists in New York are reportedly getting involved in the Georgia runoff elections by buying Ubers to drive voters to the polls.
Millennial activist group Plus1Vote is spending funds on the ridesharing service to shuttle Georgians to the polls during early voting and on the January 5th election day, co-founder Saad Amer told the New York Post. Amer, a New Yorker himself, said the group is utilizing Uber to "provide free rides to the polls" and "drop off absentee ballots to ballot drop boxes."
Plus1Vote claims to advocate for better policy on climate change, social justice, and gun control, and the Post reports that it had previously paid for Lyft rides for voters throughout the south in the November general election. The group is partnering with the New Georgia Project, an organization founded by failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, reports the Post.
The New Georgia Project, which was also previously led by Democratic senate candidate Raphael Warnock, is currently being investigated for improper voter registration activities. Other New York groups are also getting involved in the Georgia race by phone banking, including New York Young Democrats, Persist Brooklyn, and the Working Families Party, according to the Post.

A progressive PAC that has installed over a dozen billboards urging Trump supporters to not vote for David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in the Georgia runoffs is simultaneously partnering with former presidential candidate Andrew Yang to boost voter turnout for Democrats.
Yang did not respond to a request for comment asking if he endorsed Really American PAC's efforts to depress GOP voter turnout in the upcoming Georgia runoff elections.
Georgia GOP spokeswoman Abigail Sigler railed against Really American PAC for coming into the state with the "sole intention of deceiving voters" in a statement to Fox News.
"No amount of billboards will divide Georgia Republicans who know that Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue continue to stand with President Donald Trump," Sigler said.
Really American PAC isn't alone in calling on Trump supporters to stay at home for Georgia's pivotal runoff elections.
"Stop the Steal" attorneys Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, both former Democrats, called on Republicans during a rally last Wednesday to withhold votes for Loeffler and Perdue because the runoffs would be "another rigged election."

Finally, and most importantly, we are seeing some horrible Republican infighting with people purporting to act for the president, some of whom are even encouraging Republicans not to vote. It's not clear what's motivating these people. Some of it is just standard-issue tension between wings of the Republican party and grumbling among those who don't like the nominees. There's a time and place for that sort of thing. We call them primaries. They're over. The choice now is between the candidates we have, however imperfect, and a potentially radical Democratic agenda.

The Numbers In Georgia Point Towards Two Tossup Races
Georgia's Senate runoffs have drawn record spending, record turnout and national attention, setting the stage for two extremely close races on Jan. 5.
Georgia's runoffs have already seen record turnout since early voting began Dec. 14. Nearly 1.7 million votes have already been cast, according to the U.S. Elections Project, amounting to nearly 20% of the state's registered voters. Approximately 76,000 Georgians who did not vote in November had registered to vote in January's election before the state's Dec. 7 deadline.
Ad spending in both races has also shattered existing records. Over $450 million has been spent on television ads alone since Nov. 3, putting the total spending between both races on pace to hit nearly $600 million by Jan. 5.
While polls have reflected two neck-and-neck races, with some giving the edge to Republicans and some giving the edge to Democrats, forecasters have warned that with races this close in a hotly contested battleground state that turnout is all that matters come runoff day.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday blocked an attempt by Democrats to unanimously approve a bill from the House that would increase the already passed $600 direct payments to $2,000, a measure supported by President Donald Trump and both Georgia senators.

With Letlow being sworn in, Republicans have 212 seats in the House compared with the Democrats' 218 seats. Tie votes fail in the House, which means that Democrats cannot pass legislation if three or more of their members defect and the Republican Party fully opposes them.
And specifically, with such a narrow majority, it means that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) can only afford to lose two Democrat votes on a bill on any legislation opposed by all Republicans. It will leave Pelosi and her caucus with little room for error on bills including President Joe Biden's infrastructure package, another COVID-19 stimulus bill, policing bills, or gun-control legislature.
