Oliver, I can't believe what's happening in the USA..
The squashing of free speech by monopolized corporations connected to the Democratic Party, the use of mob violence that has been encouraged the same party for the past four years, electoral fraud, and the suppression of opposition..
The USA will be a very less disirable place to live in four years, unless you're a multi-millionaire.

I started purging anything big tech related a few months ago, but need to completely get rid of backup email accounts and such.
The only thing I'll really miss is Spotify. It's going to be difficult. I'm putting that one off till the end.

				Good for you Oliver!
I tried saying for years, stay off Facebook. Now look how they are. ALL Big Tech is now in on this shit.
No more Amazon for me. The only thing I used them for was shopping, no Prime.

It's enjoyable dealing with manufacturers directly or with smaller  individual suppliers when manufacturers deal only though suppliers or outlets

But, about the big tech/democRAT party assault on free speech, and opposition. Leaders in Germany and France attack Twitter's move to ban President Trump, blast Big Tech for curbing free speech. So did the ACLU.

I don't trust or like Elon Musk, but he is useful for now in the people's fight against censorship.
Quote
Responding to an article shared by the satirical conservative website Babylon Bee, Musk said "[a] lot of people are going to be super unhappy with West Coast high tech as the de facto arbiter of free speech."
The comments from Musk comes as big tech companies launch a crackdown on conservative speech on their platforms. Twitter and Facebook have begun banning conservative accounts beginning with President Donald Trump's, leading conservatives to search for other social media platforms to host discourse.
However, some pro-free speech social media outlets such as Parler have also been targeted by big tech platforms. Apple and Google both removed the Parler app from their respective application stores within hours of each other, with Parler's web hosting service, Amazon, removing Parler from the internet entirely as of Monday.
Musk, who left Silicon Valley for Texas in 2020, has been critical of big tech giants in the past. Shortly after the recent purge of conservative accounts on social media platforms began after the Wednesday Capitol Hill riot, Musk took to Twitter to advocate for the app Signal, an encrypted messaging app which Musk has donated to.
Musk also has strong relationships with other notable free speech advocates such as the podcast host Joe Rogan, having appeared on his podcast twice.

It is no secret why the tech giants spent millions to support demcrap candidates and had a huge hand in rigging the 2020 election.
This is not conspiracy theory....it is obvious fact that has been frantically squashed by the democrap controlled legal establishment and the media mob.
The US now exists under a one party rule for all intents and purposes. The WH, both houses of congress and even the Supreme Court are controlled by the Politburo of the Democratic Party....The American experiment has taken a fatal turn and has now ended in failure...All thanks to big tech, globalist money and a TDS infected, dumber than dirt, portion of it's citizenry all to willing to sell the country down the river.

I won't be using Twitter ever again.

Parler appears to be hosted by Epik, which also hosts social media website Gab.
While it did not confirm Parler was seeking its services, Epik in a statement last week blasted Big Tech companies' "kneejerk reaction" of "simply deplatforming and terminating any relationship that on the surface looks problematic or controversial." The statement noted that Epik is "not quick to abandon our administrative positions," as it attempted to contrast it and Amazon.

De-platformed social media website Parler may return by the end of January, coming after the site reappeared online after Amazon Web Services (AWS) took the site down due to alleged violations, according to Parler CEO John Matze.
"I'm confident that by the end of the month, we'll be back up," Matze told Fox News on Sunday night. The website reappeared online with a brief statement from Matze.
According to a WHOIS search, Parler appeared to register its domain with Epik web hosting, which also hosts Gab.
"Every day it changes wildly, but I feel confident now," Matze said, according to the Fox News interview. "We're making significant progress. When you go into Parler.com it doesn't go into the void now, it hits a server, and it returns just one piece of information."
Matze wrote in an update on the site that "now seems like the right time to remind you all—both lovers and haters—why we started this platform."
"We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media," he remarked in his statement, dated Jan. 16. "Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both. We will resolve any challenge before us and plan to welcome all of you back soon. We will not let civil discourse perish!"

Lisa Haba, a partner of Haba Law Firm based in Florida, told The Epoch Times that Twitter refused to take down sexual exploitation videos of her client even after her client showed Twitter the proof that he's a minor, and that Twitter "certainly was profiting off the exploitation of [her client]."
The Haba Law Firm, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation Law Center, and the Matiasic Firm jointly filed a federal lawsuit against Twitter on Jan. 20, 2021.
Haba told the story of her client during an interview with Jan Jekielek, host of The Epoch Times' American Thought Leaders program.
John Doe, Haba's client, is currently a 17-year-old high school student. When he was 13 years old, he was targeted on Snapchat by online sex traffickers who impersonated a 16-year-old girl. He was manipulated into sending over his nude photos. After receiving them, the traffickers started to blackmail him. They threatened to send his nude photos to his parents, his pastor, and school leaders, and others.
"The child attempted for a long time to appease the traffickers, acquiescing to their demands in an effort to save his family and save himself from their demands," Haba said. "Ultimately [he] was able to break free when they demanded to meet with him, and he, thankfully, declined to do so."
However, when he was 16 years old, the abusive material surfaced on Twitter.
John Doe became aware of the posts from his classmates in January 2020. Many students in his school watched the videos, and John Doe became a "victim of vicious bullying" and "became suicidal."
Fortunately, his mother found out and supported him in contacting Twitter to demand the abusive material be taken down off the platform.
However, after receiving a copy of John Doe's driver's license and two more requests from his mother, Twitter failed to act.
"Twitter waited several more days before finally saying a devastating comment to this child," Haba said. "We don't find this to be a violation of our policies, and we're going to take no further action."
The material wasn't taken down until the Department of Homeland Security stepped in. It had accrued over 167,000 views and 2,223 retweets, the complaint noted.
"The words say that they have a zero-tolerance policy, but their actions speak differently. When our client asked them to take down the exact material that they say that they proclaim to preclude, they refuse to act," Haba said.
"That's basically the essence of this lawsuit."
Twitter Profited From the Abusive Content
Haba went on to claim that Twitter profited from not removing her client's abuse videos.

An executive with Parler, a social media platform favored by conservatives, said Monday that it will resume service with new management—coming about a month after Amazon Web Services removed its service from its servers.
Interim CEO Mark Meckler told Just The News and local news outlets in Las Vegas that the company moved to a new server farm, saying that users should expect to be able to use the website on Monday.
Meckler said that new users should be able to sign up for the service within a week or so.
"We are off of the big tech platform, so that we can consider ourselves safe and secure for the future," Meckler said in an interview. He did not disclose what company is hosting Parler.

Former President Donald Trump is considering joining a new social media platform but stated he might create his own—coming after he was suspended by Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other Big Tech websites last month.
In an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday night—one of his first since leaving office—the former commander-in-chief said he is weighing his options after Twitter moved against him.
"We're negotiating with a number of people, and there's also the other option of building your own site. Because we have more people than anybody. I mean you can literally build your own site," Trump said, adding that he is considering building his own platform.

Popular Twitter troll revealed to be on Democrat PAC payroll and the backlash is brutal
'People are finding out that the 'Brooklyn Dad' dude on twitter is a paid shill for the Democrats. Twitter is full of paid democrat shills like him
https://www.theblaze.com/news/brooklyn-dad-padellan-pac-paid?utm_source=theblaze-dailyAM&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily-Newsletter__AM%202021-03-11&utm_term=ACTIVE%20LIST%20-%20TheBlaze%20Daily%20AM
A popular liberal Twitter troll was revealed to be on the payroll of a Democrat PAC and the online backlash from both sides was palpable.
Majid Padellan runs a Twitter account with nearly 900,000 followers, but many on social media are reeling after a financial filing from a Democratic PAC revealed how much they paid him as part of their pro-Biden campaign.
Padellan, who tweets with the moniker "Brooklyn Dad," responded to the accusations on Wednesday by referring to his account profile that disclosed that he was a senior adviser for the Really American political action committee.
"Just woke up, saw Brooklyn Dad trending because a bunch of folks thought I was hiding information clearly stated in my profile, but even MORE of you stood up for me," he said.
However, his critics pointed out that the admission didn't say that he was a paid adviser. The disclosure was posted and circulated widely on social media and showed that he was paid $57,088 in the 2020 political cycle.
Progressives pounced on the news to attack Padellan for his tweets against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) during the Democratic presidential primary. Others criticized him for not disclosing his paid status.
"Brooklyn Dad being a paid Dem op is pretty unsurprising, it absolutely does pay to have/promote s****y political opinions in America," tweeted the account that posted the financial filing.
"Wait Brooklyn Dad Defiant is a paid shill for centrist Dems who gets tens of thousands to tweet out DNC talking points. Didn't see that coming!" tweeted Jeer Heet, a correspondent for National Affairs.
"Political operatives should have to disclose their affiliations on social media. That's my feeling on this Brooklyn Dad situation. Online astroturfing is a problem even when it's not Russian," said Walter Bragman, a contributor to Jacobin Mag.
"He made more than $57k in 6 months from the super PAC...That's more than most journalists I know," he added.
"This is just proof of what we have already known. The DNC pays non-FBA immigrants like that 'Brooklyn Dad' dude to troll Foundational Black Americans on twitter to try and disrupt and steer our narratives," responded Tariq Nasheed, a black activist.
"People are finding out that the 'Brooklyn Dad' dude on twitter is a paid shill for the Democrats. Twitter is full of paid democrat shills like him," he added.
"Truly we are living in The Twilight of the Resistance Grifters," Heet said.
The social media feud was the latest battle between the progressive far-left wing of the party and the more centrist establishment wing.

Facebook's drive to register 4.5 million voters swayed the November election to President Joe Biden, a Facebook executive opined in hidden camera footage.
The executive, Benny Thomas, expressed grim views of the giant tech company, but counted the voter drive among its positives while secretly being recorded earlier this year by reporters with Project Veritas, an undercover journalism nonprofit.
"This is the good side of Facebook. ... We made a big difference," he said in a video released by Veritas on March 16, explaining that Facebook exceeded its goal of registering 4 million people and could only accomplish the task because of its "sheer scale and reach."
"Yeah. I'm pretty sure we [Biden] won that way," the reporter said.
"Yea!" Thomas replied, laughing. "Exactly!"
"What do you think?" the reporter jumped in.
"Exactly. I think so too," he said.
Thomas's LinkedIn profile describes his position as Global Planning Lead – Creative & Experiential at Facebook since September 2019.
Facebook didn't immediately respond to a request by The Epoch Times for comment.
Thomas suggested to one of the reporters that Facebook needs to do more to control speech on its platforms.
"People are believing whatever they see, and it's just causing a crisis," he said in another video published by Veritas on March 15.
When asked about his views on solutions, he said, "The answer is just more controls, more safeguards. ... To give people a guide to behavior."
Behavior needs to be kept in check through surveillance, he suggested.
"That's called democracy. Somebody is always watching you so that you behave well," he said.
On the other hand, he acknowledged that Facebook's judgments are necessarily biased, even when machine-driven.
"There's always built-in bias because this is the myth that computer programmers told us, which is, 'Oh, these are computers, computers don't have bias.' But guess what? Human beings wrote that code. And that human being has bias."
Conservatives and some liberals have long complained that Facebook is censoring political speech based on vague, partly secret, ever-changing, and unevenly enforced policies.
Thomas also said Facebook and Google have grown so powerful, they need to be broken up.
"The government needs to step in and break up Google and Facebook. I'll make less money, but it's a better thing for the world," he said.
Facebook needs to be stripped of its major subsidiaries, he suggested.
"Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, Oculus, WhatsApp. They all need to be separate companies. It's too much power when they're all one together," he said.
"It needs to be broken up the way the telecom companies were broken up and the oil companies were broken up. But better than that, because those guys just came back together pretty soon after that. I hope we've learned from that. But that's really the one thing, as you said, I would break it up, and I would remove Zuck [Mark Zuckerberg] as the CEO."
Facebook's power ceases to be innocuous, he said, "when you weaponize it as a politician and you go, 'Tell me, show me people who are racist,'" such as when "a racist politician" is looking to target messaging to "several racists who will vote" for him.
When the reporter asked who would decide what makes one a racist and how would Facebook determine it, Thomas mused, "What would be a proxy for a racist?"
"Lives in all-white town, education, religious preference," he said. "So you can triangulate three or four data points and say, 'She's likely to be racist.'"
Thomas also criticized Zuckerberg's investment in gene-editing technology.
"It's eugenics. I don't know any way to stop it. I think the genie's out of the bottle," he said.
He worries the technology would lead to the development of a "superior race" of people and extreme polarization of society into "haves" and "have-nots" that goes beyond mere wealth differences.
"They have a thing that I can never have," he said, describing the position of the "have-nots."
When confronted by one of the reporters, Thomas refused to go on record and clarify his comments.

All it will do is provide an echo chamber for those from a conservative leaning, and attract on-line antifa wannabes to troll and bait.
In my mind it is just another indicator that democracy is no longer viable when we compartmentalise our points of communication.
People will continue to reject the process of democracy if it provides governments that not only do they not agree with, but which does not agree with them.
