Title: Finland wins gold at World Juniors Tournament

Finland won the gold medal by beating Sweden 3-2, so Sweden gets the silver medal..



Russia beat Canada 2-1 to win the bronze..



Nothing for Canada and the USA this year.

I tried to watch but I have work to do. Holiday ends 7th of january. Little time to do it.

Finland was the underdog against both Canada and Sweden..



It is their first gold at the World Juniors since 1998.

Good on them. They won by playing hard and well .... not to mention all the hard training beforehand

My husband thought either the USA would repeat as gold medal champions or Sweden would win..



Finland seemed like a long shot.

Yes. For me the US is always a sentimental favorite. Their winning Olympic gold twice against astronomical  odds using mainly determination and chutzpah endeared them to me. Seems the Finns came through in similar fashion

My husband and I always support Team Canada no matter what..



But he knew the odds of Canada winning gold this year were not good..



He didn't really care who won, but he predicted either Sweden or the United States.

Who will win gold at Sochi. Canada doesn't do well on the big international ice surface, so I doubt it will be us.

My husband told me that less than half the players from the 2014 Olympic team will be playing for this team.
