Happy year of the ox Fash, Shen Li, Zetsu, and Priscilla. Maybe Azhya too. I don't know if Filipinos celebrate that festival or not.
The Philippines is close to China.....and a fair number of people in that country have Chinese ancestry..
I don't know if it's a national holiday, but I'm sure a lot people celebrate it just like here in Canada.

I am sure it is good but I have never had this. I do not usually crave for any Asian soupy items but I do love noodle soup. I am just not that intersted in too many exotic items thrown in there. I enjoy Egg Drop Soup and Wonton Soup. In the same vein, I am also not too keen on the Pho stuff.
In the Philippines, we have Arroz Caldo. It was something the Spanish left behind. It is a rice soup with chunks of chicken meat thrown in there.

I do not know if there is a city where there are no Filipinos. Probably some. Anyway, in the old days in the Philippines, the Chinese folks like to keep to themselves and not intermarry but that has changed now. Today, you'll find Chinese Filipinos intermarrying with the darker Pinoys. Nevertheless, some Chinese in the Philippines still like to keep to themselves.

I found out that Chinese New Year is now an official holiday in the Philippines.
That does not surprise me. Duterte is a nationalist, but he is also China's number one toady. After Korean president Moon Jae In of course.
