MP Zimmer says Liberals driving away resource development
Woodside pulls plug on Kitimat LNG, second partner to exit project
MP Bob Zimmer says anti-resource development policies are continuing to drive away investment in Canada and Northern B.C.
Zimmer was responding to the decision by Australia's Woodside Energy to abandon the Kitimat LNG project. It is the second partner to drop from the development following the exit of Chevron Corp. earlier this year.
"As we here in Northeastern BC know, projects like Kitimat LNG can produce some of the cleanest, most ethically-sourced liquefied natural gas in the world. It can also play an important role in reducing global emissions," Zimmer said.
"We should be championing these projects. Instead, the Liberals have created a regulatory regime that is driving investment away and fails to protect the environment."
Chevron and Woodside each owned 50% of the project, which is permitted. Last year, Chevron announced it would try to sell the project. But it could find no buyers, so in March it announced it would halt all financing of the project.
Woodside said it will be focusing on other projects with better prospects.

Natural Gas Demand to Surpass 2019 Levels by Year's End
Global natural gas demand is forecast to recover and eclipse 2019 levels by the end this year, with liquefied natural gas (LNG) consumption set to climb in Asia, according to BP plc.
CEO Bernard Looney during a conference call with investors said higher commodity prices, combined with more efficiencies, pointed to better days ahead.

It went about as well as you might expect. The first exams saw each of the students receiving a C-. This was of course something the lesser achievers were okay with, the honours students.... mmmmmm, not so much. All that heavy lifting for a C-, while their duller witted classmates coasted along on their coattails kinda sucked. The results of this were seen in subsequent exams where the grades slipped into fail territory. Thise who were capable of flying high simply did not make the effort to elevate their lesser abled (or plain lazy) comrades as the true Marxist paradigm revealed itself in being utterly incapable of providing incentive to that end.
Imagine being able to apply that Marxist style of "equity of outcome" where Wellington Street is concerned. Yes yes, I know full well socialism blows furry monkey genitalia; Truedope would likely declare so himself if he was subject to the same shortcomings he expects for you (indeed the entire entourage in that benighted little shithole would decry it), but imagine it for a moment and even better, the sense of satisfaction you would have rubbing their noses in it and saying "how the fuck do
Then recognise this: each and every one of them, irrespective of their professed political ideologies, are capitalists at their core. They want to do well for themselves, they want their fortunes to shine.
If they get to coast along on your coattails, so much the better... for them.
