Today marks the first day of astronomical fall for 2021.

The fall equinox will happen today, Sept. 22, at 2:21 p.m. CDT. That marks the minute when the sun will be directly above the equator, making day and night nearly equal in length across the world, according to NASA.

The Sun shines almost equally on the Northern and Southern hemispheres only during the fall and spring equinoxes, according to NASA.

In the Northern Hemisphere the days ahead will be marked by later sunrises and earlier sunsets. The opposite will be true south of the equator.

Mabon, Meán Fómhair,  The Autumnal Equinox, the second of the harvest festivals and a minor Sabbat.

We are now 3/4s of the way through the wheel of 2021 with the last 2 important Sabbats yet to come... :33es8qb_th:

Fuck, autumn in Canada is depressing.

In Canada, we know what's coming, despite the climate crisis.

I couldn't ask for better weather so far for the fall harvest. I hope October is the same.

I hope it lays off the rain for October.  I don't mind the chilliness...I dont like my hair getting wet.

I don't mind cold nights as long as we still get some warmth during those October days.
