Go Canada go!!

SOCHI, RUSSIA - Caroline Ouellette warned that Finland would be hard to beat — and Monday's hard-fought victory proved the Canadian women's hockey captain right.
While critics of the sport still insist the competition is really just a two-team battle between Canada and the U.S., Finland gave Ouellette's squad a serious scare before losing 3-0 at the Sochi Games.
Finnish goalie Noora Raty held Canada in check for more than 40 minutes until Meghan Agosta-Marciano scored 9:47 into the third period. Jayna Hefford and Rebecca Johnston scored, too, to seal the win.
But earlier in the game, each shot Raty stopped instilled more confidence in her teammates. Midway through the third period, it almost appeared Canada could lose its first-ever Olympic game against a team other than the U.S.
Given that the future of Olympic women's hockey could be in jeopardy, the challenge was welcome.
"They have really improved. This is no longer a team to be taken lightly," Agosta-Marciano said of the Finns.
Her teammates echoed that statement.
"They are robust and they play a very tight game," said Ouellette. "We have to congratulate them. They've come so far this year."
Canada registered 42 shots on Raty in the win. Shannon Szabados made 14 saves to give Canada its second straight shutout to open the tournament.
The Canadians had to find a way to break the Finnish fortress.
"We knew we had to be patient and constantly attack," said Agosta-Marciano. "Despite the many stops and missed opportunities, we did not let our frustrations get the better of us."
Finland won bronze at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.
The round-robin wraps up Wednesday with Canada facing the U.S., before the medal round gets under way. The Americans thumped Switzerland 9-0 on Monday.

Body checking isn't allowed in women's hockey, but it's still pretty rough and tough. The Finns played well with that classic Finnish 'in your face as soon as you have the puck' style. No body checking, but it sure wasn't easy.
Come on. It's women and hockey! Check it out!

The japanese womens hockey team looked nice. One of them lovely women posed on her tummy on the ice. Looked good. :D

I wished I had seen that game. I get more into hockey during the Olympics than the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I want to destroy the silent racism. Silent racism just gives the pussies the position of power.

You chicks smelled of nigger from the moment I came here...
You see niggers are the most lowest human beings on earth and every woman feel themselves goddessess with them.
Just how it is.

To tell the truth I've pretty much stopped watching Olympic competition of any sort since they pulled women's softball out of the summer games. There are hopes that it will be reinstated in 2020.
But I did catch the women's sprint in Biathlon the other day. It was pretty amazing.
I need to git me one of those 22 Biathlon target rifles, Not that I'm going to get my big fat ass on a pair of cross country skies anytime soon, it's just that the rifles are super cool.

The sporting event that really matters will be the World Cup this summer. What a fucking party!!

I have met several nigger loving bitches in my time... They all seemed to have bitchy attitudes... Being treated as a queen by the jungle-bunnies instead of being treated like something I would scrape of my shoe really gets into your head.
Nice when you post your porn vids to me... I have 3 kids, my job and millions of women to bug me...
Some of us really do get the bad end of the rope... No worries though... I will cope.

I was surprised to read that Japan's women's hockey team played well, but lost 1-0 to Sweden..
They came even closer with Russia losing 2-1 on a late third period goal..
This is the first time that Japan has qualified since the Olympics in Nagano in 1998.

Will it be Russia vs Canada in the finals ? I hope the Russia Canada hockey rival re emerges. The Russians were following that rivalry in the 70's possibly even more  avidly than Canadians were.

Do you mean in women's hockey or men's or both?

				Why not both ?

I think the women's team probably has a better chance of winning gold than the men's team..
I am not that sure about this, so maybe someone who follows hockey closer than I do like Romero can offer some predictions?

Canada vs. our arch rivals USA tomorrow morning! 4:30am pacific. Ugh. Should I try to get up at 4:30 or just stay up all night?

I know Canada can win them both, but it's tough to predict! Canada's women's have won more Olympics, but the American team is pretty much an even match. They both win about half the games they play against each other. The Canadian men's looks like a lock on paper, but that's what I thought last time. The US, Russia and Sweden definitely also have a chance.
Of course, I will predict Canada for both!

The Canadian women's hockey team defeated the USA 3-2. They were lucky to get that win. It was 3-1 for Canada during the last three minutes of the third when the Americans pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and started pouring on the pressure in Canada's end. They got a goal with a minute or so left in the game and then Canada got a too many men on the ice penalty. I thought sure the US would tie it, but they didn't.

Sweden is like our nemesis...
The disaster of 2003 is in our racial memory. 5-1 and yet swedes managed to even it out.
Swedes, the big red machine (Russia) and canadians are the enemies in hockey.

5-6 in the end... They should have shot our team.
