Word "Spooky" Banned By National Theatre Over Absurd Claim It's Racist (//https)
The National Theatre of Scotland has banned the word "spooky" over its "racial connotations" despite nobody complaining and despite there being no record of it ever being used as a racial slur in the United Kingdom.

(//%3C/s%3E%3CURL%20url=%22https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/styles/inline_image_mobile/public/inline-images/181021spooky1.jpg?itok=OQvfB3n2%22%3E%3CLINK_TEXT%20text=%22https://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-publi%20...%20k=OQvfB3n2%22%3Ehttps://assets.zerohedge.com/s3fs-public/styles/inline_image_mobile/public/inline-images/181021spooky1.jpg?itok=OQvfB3n2%3C/LINK_TEXT%3E%3C/URL%3E%3Ce%3E)
Yes, really.
"A source at the Scottish theatre told the Daily Record that no one has complained about the term "spooky" but they were concerned the word could become problematic in the future," reports RT.
So based on the prospect that somebody, somewhere, might be offended in the future by a completely non-controversial word, it has to be banned.
Apparently, the word "spooky" may have been used in America 80 years ago during World War II to refer to black pilots, meaning it must be expunged from our consciousness for eternity.
Irony being as I well know the black squadron of fighter pilots was so good it was demanded as protection to accompany bombers by many lilly white bomber pilots and crews
In all thy sons command became all of us command in our national anthem.

I wouldn't use the word spooky while in the US.
I should do a thing on the Tuskegee squadron
The Tuskegee Airmen were the first Black military aviators in the U.S. Army Air Corps (AAC), a precursor of the U.S. Air Force.
Trained at the Tuskegee Army Air Field in Alabama, they flew more than 15,000 individual sorties in Europe and North Africa during World War II.
Their record was outstanding

I would. Blacks should be proud of their airmen .... I am, but then I know a fair bit about them .. Spooks was meant as compliment .. although most likely have been shielded from any mention of them .. not in their curriculum for whites to choose to put their lives in their hands

No, you wouldn't. You would not be given the opportunity to explain the origin of the word.
No words are "banned" here per se. Some are heavily discouraged, but they are the rather obvious ones.
If there are any Brits among us, they might have an entire catalogue of banned words. The UK is the citadel of Thoughtcrimes and the home of Ingsoc (English Socialism). Calling someone a "Paki" in the UK is a hate crime, despite the fact that it is merely an abbreviation of their country of origin.
Victimhood is the new growth industry.
Heavily discouraged via cancel culture...
"COON" cheese... despite it not having any bad connotations.... believe it was a family name.

The nation's leading parks nonprofit on Tuesday released a lengthy guide on how to speak in woke terms, including tips like avoiding using the term "Americans"
and making sure the term "white" is lowercase while "Black" may be capitalized.
The National Recreation And Park Association's (NRPA) exhaustive 17-page "Equity Language Guide" for parks and recreation professionals includes meticulous instructions on what words are acceptable or unacceptable in speaking about race, age, gender, sexual orientation, and ability.
I always capitalize Black or White if describing race......I don't care what the American National Recreation And Park Association says.

Once again demonstrating that America is a lunatic nation.
We in other countries should be very vigilant in ensuring that American toxins do not disperse throughout the rest of the world like many other of their absurd conventions, behaviours, products and services. It's not just the USA..
It's happening in Britain, Canada, Sweden and I'm sure Australia too.
No. Not remotely close to the scale of madness in the US.
The UK is struggling to some degree with its own racially driven dysfunctions, but not on that scale.
Australians in general are looking at the USA and UK and repelling many of their acts of grand stupidity. We do not have the same racial issues those two countries have.

There's a slip. They even have strong people who see through it all using "their words" .. That's scary to me
I refuse to use any of their words because using them shows they are winning
I know, I know .. they are winning .. but on principle I'll not give then any credence because it's all so embarrassingly hokey
I don't see them as winning. The amount of derisory blowback tells me they are more a source of mockery and embarrassment. They are having their moment in the sun, but not for long. When they grow up and have to face the world as it really is, they will see just how vacuous they have been.
In N America including Canada, they currently have full control of politics, schools, industry actions, influential media of all types (to idiots of which there seem to be a great number and they vote ) etc etc
I know it seems crazy, but this is where we are now
The lunatics' are now running the asylum
Feminism has long been subversive. It avoids the use of democracy to gain influence, instead infiltrating the insitutions you name above to gain power.
Militant feminism has been largely successful in building up its influence through claims of the need for equality...taking the high moral ground.
But MF does not seek equality. That is a mere convenient smokescreen for their true intent; social revolution that displaces both capitalism and its male proponents in lieu of a female dominated society. Women's equality is just their Trojan horse.
But like all socialist movements, it suffers the same fatal flaw. It assumes that just as communism could depend on all workers for its support, feminism can depend on all women. It can't, because in large part capitalism has served women very well.
Feminist social strategy has been very successful. But has it really delivered power, or just a bigger platform from which to shriek their hysterical, quasi socialist nonsense.
Noise does not equate to power.
True. However, they do seem to have power and especially over school boards who determine what our kids get brought up with .. excluding parents of course if they are on the ball
One of the fundamental errors our society has subscribed to is that education is fundamental to the growth and development of children.
The education system is not nearly as potent and influential as its proponents would like to believe. No teacher can ever wield the power of a parent, no matter how hard they try and how much teachers are romanticised in pop fiction. Sooner or later, the little clones that graduate from Fuck U will learn the hard way that nobody gives a fuck for their safe spaces when it comes to earning a living.

Saying the word "kaffir" to a black person in South Africa could get you fined, locked up in jail or even killed these days. So what does the term mean? Well here is the interesting part: it simply meant that the native had pagan beliefs, may be non-Muslim or practiced polytheism. No big deal right? Think again...

Arabic originally. It's a fascinating language. While not a romance language on the ear by any means, it's written form can be quite complex and interesting.
When used by islamics, Kuffir, Kafir, Kaffir, Kufr, Kuffr + other spellings are used to demean those not of islam and defines them as greatly inferior

Saying "Abo" here in Oz is derogatory, and that's just short for Aborigine.
One also can't refer to Aborigines as "Boong" anymore, because it's the sound they make when one accidentally hits them with the side of the car!

Sexual fluidity, in short, means your sexual orientation isn't permanently fixed. Yes, everyone has an underlying orientation — asexual, pansexual, or heterosexual, for example.

I don't need doctors at all. Even when I require sutures, I do them myself with a bit of whiskey and needle and thread that my wife uses to sew on my shirt buttons. A surgeon is what I'll probably need in the future. Quacks can carry on living their lavish lifestyles without my money. Acupuncture and aucpressure work well for some ailments but, they aren't substitutes for surgery.
Of course not, that's why I bought one of these skateboards as an alternative to surgery.

Easy movement on the knee for some subtle therapy. Actual knee surgery for a torn meniscus is a bit hit and miss. After some great downhill skateboarding, I was pretty good after 8months. And 16 years later my knee only gives me slight hassle if I go too hard in the surf. A lot of other people that I have spoken to that have had the surgery still have ongoing issues.
Skateboarding for the win.
