While for the current resident walls are bad if "they protect the county" - but are Okie Dokey for he & other politicians, many of whom use them to protect "themselves" on their homes
Current resident .. . well when he's at his home ..which is a LOT... had a huge wall build around his home recently

I don't reckon the WH would face a major problem if armed people surrounded it. They'd simply deploy resources already game played for such scenarios and shut it down.
This is probably just for optics.... setting up the narrative... and to lesser degrees, initially preventing mechanised assault (whether there is an authentic adversary or one they manufacture for optics).
