I'll play.... I found a photo that got baked in a heatwave.... hence the discoloration near my torso.

My older sister had this picture on her facebook account. This is my grandmother and the picture was taken in Ukraine. We don't know the exact date, but my sister thinks it's about 1940.

You were kidding around the other day about old pictures. I remember as a kid boxes of old black and white pictures. I don't what happened to them. My mother is still living, maybe she still has them. Now I have an interest in getting my hands on them.

We all too often take family history for granted, until we have grandchildren and realise we need to keep them connected to their heritage and history.



I suspect we've all got old pics stashed somewhere.

I've always been proud of being Ukrainian, but I didn't think about my family tree until I was in my mid forties.

Some of us aren't family pic collectors. If it weren't for my wife, I'd have lost or discarded the few I have remaining in the decades past.
