You should change your passwords immediately, along with any two factor authentication measures you have in place. This is something you and everyone should be doing on a regular basis anyway (at least every few months as well as immediately you are advised of any compromise to services you might be using). Sitting back and saying "it'll never happen to me" is the path forward to inviting it to happen to you.
And no, it's not a sure thing that it's going to happen this particular time, but if you can't be sure if it is or it isn't, then "better to be safe than sorry" should hold sway always, as much of a pain in the arse as it might seem.

Good move. Think about changing your secret questions as well if you are able; it's not entirely clear at this point exactly how comprehensive the level of data that was leaked, so anything you can think of to cover your e-ass can't hurt.

Convenience? Dopamine hits? Fucked if I know, but I can tell you this much; in the absence of Fecesbook and Crapple you would continue to see data breaches in other areas. You can however take personal responsibility for your own security, along with inviting others to do similar (as I have done in the posts above).
I did advocate for Fecesbook to be kicked out of Canada a few years ago, around the time Truedope was pretending to beat Zuckerbuns into submission on a question of the safety of Canadian citizen's security as it happens. Feel free tp ask Sasquatch how that discussion went, or take my word for it that the leading conservative voice in that exchange was adamant we offer not encouragement, but ridicule to Truedope in attempting to sanction Fecesbook's CEO. Hey, maybe he was right in claiming we needed to smash every effort the little hobbit of Wellington Street undertook, but as I pointed out to him at the time, if approbation was all a leader could expect from his voting public

I bailed on it entirely. I was locked out of the account by some algorithm that decided my penchant for VPN usage warranted a request for government documentation as regards to my identity. None of the password retrieval methods would suffice.
I hadn't provided any government ID to Fecesbook previously, therefore I interpreted to be a naked demand for identity documents for its own sake. You may have noticed that I don't respond favourably to coercion and it's not as if Fecesbook is the only game in town, so the "we'll let you back in if you jump through this hoop (and possibly others)" went unanswered. Fuck it; if they're going to behave like pigs to their users, they deserve to crash and burn

I like fb...I like keeping in contact with friends and family that live far away or overseas...there are also groups I enjoy.

I use Messenger/video for that, but I don't post, reply or like anything.

Apple AirTags were designed to help users keep track of important but easy-to-lose possessions such as wallets, purses, and keys. But according to a new report from Vice, nefarious actors across the country are using the inexpensive tracking devices to stalk and harass women.
What are the details?
The news outlet reported this week that it obtained 150 reports from eight of the country's largest police departments within the last eight months that mentioned AirTags. Of the 150 reports, 50 of them reportedly involved women who alerted police after they started getting notifications that they were being tracked by an AirTag they didn't own.
According to Vice, 25 of those reports identified "a man in their lives — ex-partners, husbands, bosses — who they strongly suspected planted the AirTags on their cars in order to follow and harass them."
AirTags, unveiled by Apple about a year ago, are Bluetooth-enabled, battery-operated devices roughly the size of a half-dollar coin that can be attached to items and tracked with connected Apple devices. They work by pinging nearby Bluetooth-connected Apple devices using the "Find My" app, then showing the tracked objects on a map.
In one case, a woman called the police after a man who had been harassing her placed an AirTag in her car and threatened to make her life hell. In another case, a woman reported to police that her ex had slashed her car's tires and left an AirTag in the vehicle to monitor her whereabouts. In yet another case, a woman reported that she started noticing something beeping inside her vehicle every time she left her house. Later, when she confronted an ex of hers, he admitted to placing an AirTag in her car to see if she was "cheating."
Other examples included revelations of exes or controlling partners mysteriously showing up at the same places as the women. In many instances, the women reportedly feared they would be the victims of physical violence.

To add to that...when couples finally split, get divorced and the wh8le custody battle thing....the abuser generally only gets visitations...but somewhere down the line, they "gift" their children with expencive phones....I always tell people DON'T ACCEPT THEM NOR TAKE THEM.. these fuckin pricks never stop...what they are doing is...once their kids get those devices and set it up to wifi in other parents home...they somehow get access to everything....not only that...they can watch you, listen to you and track your every move....its absolutely horrific! Such losers to do that to their own kids, abd the other parent....zero lives some people have!!!

Same thing with those stupid jogger apps....some people need to let everyone on social media know they are walking or jogging.. abd tag the app to social media....little do they know anyone can then see where you are jogging or walking...during the entire event...they can see exactly where you are!! People need to stop doing that...go jog on your own...everyone doesn't need to know!

It makes me sick the lies they tell people....and people believe them and do their dirty work too....follow me...record me....doing everyday regular things....mine was trying to threaten me he'd use videos of me at the grocery store with my kid...abd another of us hanging out at the pool....like wtf? Said I was bad parent... like dude...you are literally going to show the court I'm doing good things with my kid? Going swimming and grocery shopping is a crime? How??? Wtf!!?? I got sick n tired of that shit! So many stories!
