10 years ago I ordered a bunch of seeds from Nirvana. Master Kush, Super Skank, Aurora Indica, Raspberry Cough, Short Rider and White Widow
None of them were really "great". I chose them because their shipping was the safest and the most discrete too
So I crossed them and I have to say, some of them were a lot better than the original strains
I particularly like the ones with lemony flavor, they usually give me an uplifting feeling without the crash later or the paranoia

The growing community is getting bigger and bigger here in Brazoo, a lot of growshops popping up on the web
15 years ago it was easier to find good stuff coming from Paraguay, it's mostly brickweed coming from there, but some of it was pretty good, smelling very fresh and with that lively green color
But now Paraguay's economy is doing a lot better, so the godo stuff stays there or in Brazil's south.
Only the "garbage" makes it all the way up here these days, the little good stuff stays on the hand of the drug smugglers themselves
You can get only "commercial" crap, which is usually months old and less than average
Some of the crap you can find around is downright nasty and disgusting, sometimes they wanna sell you weed that's pretty much rotten, smelling of fucking ammonia, so decomposed it turns into a kind of musky dust when you grind it, unbelievable.
When I came from the US in 2008 I had a hard time smoking the shit they had here again, I found a good dealer who could get me good stuff, although he charged me double, but it was worth it.
But a few years later I decided to grow my own, never looked back again.
It's cool to see the reaction of people when they toke with me, LOL

Oh yeah, not having to deal with shady characters is the best part. Knowing what you're smoking, what went into the soil.
I remember a YT video years ago, some guys got some kind of test and they detect a shitload of copper in the brickweed, and it looked great.
They grow that crap on fields and when it's raining or humid, they pulverize copper-based pesticides to control the mold, especially in the last weeks of flowering, when the buds are more susceptible to fungi
And that stuff doesn't break down chemically easily.

I think the colors have more to do with the lights, mine have some cool colors under led, but under HPS they look a lot different

They smell especially great when the buds are still growing. Some start up smelling like lemon but later smell like cheese.

Is this considered a quality marijuana plant?
The density looks nice and compact. The hues of colour look good. Often stronger strains will exhibit more intense colouration. Purples are generally a good indication, but it comes down to the individual strains or hybrids.

Not at all. Today there are more hybrids than ever before. I remember growing plants as a kid in Durban off ancient iron-rich sandy loamy, relying mostly on humidity and condensation as a means of water replenishment. The buds used to come out a rich, burn-orange colour. The THC level was through the roof. Durban Poison.

I've seen a lot of hydro in Melbourne over the years in that colour, but silkier. A lot of kids avoid it and prefer milder home grown stuff. Weed down this way has definitely gotten deadly strong.

A lot of people tend overuse fertilisers in hydroponic setups and don't even flush them with plain water near harvesting. They tend to go off the recommendations of vegetable growing regimes. Too much fertiliser gives me a busting headache. What I loved about Durban Poison was that it was traditionally bush grown. Bush buds give a nice even buzz. I might puff one now!

I'm pretty sure they can make paper out of hemp, I've bought rolling papers made of it
And I think it wouldn't be hard to make a filter material from hemp either, it's a very versatile fiber

I reckon the paper is mostly the pulp and very little fibre. When buying art paper for example, the Japanese use varying amounts pulp or fibre to get a particular quality or look.

I like to puff on a joint, but I'll sometimes smoke it halfway and keep the roach for later. I love getting stoned, but I never do it during the day. Years ago when I lived in Western Australia I used to surf this really sharky place. A mate and I would smoke a couple joints together and surf like our lives depended on it. It was a buzz and a half and a massive adrenaline rush. Fatalities were happening every other month on this Margaret River coastline. It was wild...
