Yes, and it's delicious, but spicy.
Here's a recipe that looks pretty authentic for Tinga de Pollo
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1021734-tinga-de-pollo-chicken-with-chipotle-and-onions
After you prepare this dish, instead of reserving it for tamales, you can make a tostada with this chicken dish.
Take a tostada (crispy previously fried tortilla) put some sour cream (crema Mexicana is better, imo but may be difficult to find) on it..load it with the Tinga de pollo (several tablespoons full) and then shredded lettuce on top.
You experience crunch, the contrast between cool sour cream and spicy delicious tinga, and then another bit of crunch from the lettuce.

Watch Netflix for the foodie type shows.  There are several on Mexican food.
Did you know that Chinese food is a favorite among Mexican people?  Back when China was on the silver standard, like 400-500 years ago they got silver from Spain in "New Spain"/Mexico.  Some Chinese got off ships and stayed in Mexico.  The opened the first Chinese restaurant in the Americas in Mexico City.
I believe I read that in https://www.amazon.com/1493-Uncovering-World-Columbus-Created/dp/0307278247
Don't quote me on that, I could be recalling it wrong, it's been years since I read it.

We have a lot of Mexican ones. I used to live in Imlay City....its still one of my favorite small towns. There were a lot of Mexicans there and we lived right the down town area (which was small....it was small town lol)  in a very large and very old apartment above a taqueria. It was all Mexican food they cooked there themselves. Family owned. And they had a lot of Mexican brand sodas and drinks.
There was also a family owned, small Mexican grocery store that sold all kinds of Mexican brands. It was awesome.

I don't trust random people to shop for me.  Also, had a friend that Instacarted for "mad money" and some people don't tip.  They are of certain ethnic backgrounds or they are fairly recent immigrants, well, screw that.

They always provide photos of the Grocery shoppers and most of them look normal.
I know when I get certain ones they will always do a good job and find all the items
others fuck up and get me the wrong cookies or when I want only 1/4 pound of cheese they give me 5 pounds of cheese and I end up giving most of it to the birds
the other grocery store uses a refrigerated truck and the driver will drop all your groceries off instead of having different shoppers.
The most annoying part is when they don't ring the doorbell when they drop the stuff off and your cleaning the attic or something and only find out the groceries are there hours later and its all ruined

I did a little bit of instacart.
It was alright. A somewhat decent and easy side hustle.

The issue is endemic....here, they'll choose the tiniest overripe produce because they stopped ordering by weight - now it's a number of produce items.
I make them refund me every time. Even for identical items that are slightly different....
Any unordered stuff like 12 cans of dog food once, gets donated to neighbours assuming I wasn't charged.

No, I will not trust others again to choose my fruit and vegetables.
I seriously would feel like some wimpy classist asshole if I ordered my groceries like that

Like "here is a shitty tip, peasant. Fetch my groceries!"
It just rubs me wrong. I dont view other people who have done it that way.....but i would FEEL like that kind of person. I'd end up apologizing a lot and going with them to help so it's best I just do it myself.
When I was 9 months pregnant with my last baby....I was going nuts wanting the house deep cleaned.  So we hired professional carpet cleaners and had a maid come. She probably couldnt stand me.....because I was following her around, apologizing for the mess, and cleaning.
My husband intervened, told me I was being a horrible pain the ass and he took me out for food so I wouldnt be home harrassing the people we hired lol.
I'm one of those people that wont let anyone help me without feeling bad. Also....I dont often trust others to do things my way. Which is always the right way ;)

Yet you described it as " A somewhat decent and easy side hustle. "
Did you feel humiliated?

Not a single bit I actually kinda enjoyed it.  I'm completely aware this is irrational lol

				Ah. lol
It's not irrational to choose your own produce though.  That's very sane.

I've never ordered my groceries. I dont trust other people to shop for me
And it would make me feel weird.
I enjoy online supermarket ordering.... exploiting and manipulating them gives me a woody. It's how the treat their suppliers and staff.
I'm just returning the favour in a profitable for me way.

I understand how their staff, stock, and policies operate. There are little hacks you can do to save 30-40% off your bill.

Knowing what generic stock lines are advertised for online delivery only but not physically present in stores and allowing substitutes for them. If the order can be picked at your local instead of the normally designated spot, they won't have the item and be forced to give you premium product. Example: generic tortillas are 2.80 for 15. No other brands do a 15 count. So you end up getting 3 packs of 6 premium for the generic price.
With produce my shopper notes state "no undersized or overripe items thanks". Either occurs, I ask for a refund.
Those are just a couple things I regularly do.... there are scores more things though.... gaming their rewards points systems, removing delivery fees, using discount shop codes, et cetera....

Tortillas are a no no at the moment. Homemade are the best tho. My grandpa taught me how to make them.
Carb city baby lol

Marinated chicken, carne asada, and salad. I said no to the beans and rice  :001_rolleyes:
Coffee and then a long drive home.
Lol...I was browsing over past threads and saw this one. I immediately thought of that shit-take on colonics thread.
