I don't know kid. I really liked SG. But, it wasn't that frickin shit that made it a good forum for me. It was a good balance. First rate modding and good posters.

notifications happen when you quote someone unless you change the setting in your user control panel> Edit notification options

No, you won't find it in default bbcodes. My understanding is that you either have to use an extension similar to this one https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=616&t=2423491
or write a mention bbcode and insert it in the bbcode list yourself.
