You peobably take free public transit to and from work. That is a big saving.

These high ticket public expenditures seldom go to cost or time frame. It's another way to make budget on dark programs out of the spotlight....

I don't gamble, but I've heard there are other things to do there..
Perhaps seeing the Hoover Dam.
There is LOTS to see and do in Vegas; the sights, the sounds, the shopping, the food/dining options; the shows...

Vegas aint like a resort that you want a minimum of a week. Three or four nights there is more than enough. It aint exactly a healthy place.

Las Vegas isn't too far from the Gran Canyon too I believe.
And, there are non casino hotels too...
Most casino hotels add a nightly "resort fee" of between $25-50+ per night, in addition to posted rates.
