I saw Stranger things season 1 and season 2 and season 2 KINDA sucked so I stopped and did not see season 3 onward, besides I like foreign series better since they are always better than the american crap. Zone Blanche aka Dark Spot On Netflix season 1 and 2 were great.

Poppy, which one I don't know, remarked years ago how I play shitty games. I disagree, but a lot of the time, I do things exactly the way you described. It's hard for me to move onto a new game when there's more to master in the old ones I like, and that's including expansions.
I have Steam and hundreds of games, but I usually end up going back to the ARPGs like Path of Exile, and the kill/collect/level MMOs. Sadly, no one does dungeons in GW2 anymore so cosmetics are out the window unless I want to play, ugh, WvW.

I long ago gave up on the thought of collecting all the far-flung crap necessary for legendary equipment and even the jade turtle mount requires one of the strike missions so that's as far as I've gotten on that.
Still, as you say there's always the metric shit ton of mastery points, achievements, and that kinda stuff that I'll never manage to 100% most of no matter how many years I play.
I maxed Fishing only to look more closely at the req's for one of those spiritwood poles and just laughed.
I don't grind enough (at all?) to make gold that way and I'm sure as hell not buying gems every other week just to satisfy another aesthetic whim.
I keep getting Black Lion chests as drops but never the bloody keys to open the bloody chests.
WTF?!?
Anyway, just little things like that.

True story, I bought gems to turn into gold a few times.
Same, especially when I was leveling crafting (all but Scribe) and once or twice since to speed up crafting Ascended armor/weapons or to buy some of those bloody Black Lion keys.
I don't really mind since the game's not subscription based and not having to shell out _X_ dollars every month for all these years sort of evens things out.

Fortnite is still the king even tho zero build took out a lot of fun and I truly hate Fortnite and what it's become.
One day there's a lot of ppl playing the next day it's the same idiots compiling crown wins using hacks.
The first season of crown dubs I had 258 and thought I was a legend, only to find out there were ppl with 1500 plus in

A bunch of us had been aggressively moshing around in a newsgroup (w.katzenjammer).
Behind the scenes, in email, we began communicating and discovered that we actually liked each other.
One day a fellow who went by Riotgear in the newsgroup declared that we were like digital knights, and in fact whether we liked it or not we were all part of something called "Order Of The Illustrious Katzenjammer Knights Of Fire".
Like most everything else we did in public we took it to absurd levels... knight/medieval themed avatars and signatures, etc.
The reactions we got made it all worth it and provided much amusement.
"OOTIKKOF" eventually became "OOTIKOF" when a fair number of us no longer posted in or even had access to the MSNTV katzenjammer newsgroup.
...and that's about it, really.

Well, looking at the age of that thread EB didn't hit his evolutionary prime.
That threads dated 04. EB didn't start becoming EB until around 06. He was still a pigeon chested blowhard around that time and hadn't read every copy of the encyclopedia britannica ten times over. Cass once made a post that EB read every book she owned at least five times. I just think he was looking for new ways to call somebody a fag, but that's just me.
As for the KOF, they were a bunch of no talent hacks who would get together and drink each other's semen out the next persons asshole. Think a human centipede conga line where TwaP was Buster Pointdexer saying "he's hot, and he's hot" while swinging his flaccid pecker around like a helicopter. If they were fire knights, I want proof at least one of them was set ablaze.

The Stainless Steel Moviegoer was a fun read, as was Checkmate and others whose nyms I can no longer recall off the top of my head.

On JQ some maps are naturally more busy than others but there doesn't seem to be any lack of people.
I only recently started playing again, but there always seems to be people around. I bought the expansion but still haven't played it because another game has caught my eye. It's almost depressing when you see a scripted event that no one bothers with.

I don't listen to much 'Skinny Puppy' these days but I'll pop in a 'Bauhaus' CD now and then.
Bauhaus' first studio album 'In The Flat Field' is pretty good, and 'The Sky's Gone Out' has some great songs too.
'Burning From the Inside' has probably gotten the most play for me, though.
A friend's sister was getting a ride with us when I tossed in that CD and she said the song 'She's In Parties' made her feel like she was tripping.

Waiting for a new, readable post to show up anywhere in the community is like waiting in line for the best rollercoaster ride at Six Flags, you are slow walking for hours in a line so long that it reaches the bathrooms. Then you have to watch as the retards all get to jump the line because they are retarded and get special treatment, then they end up losing control of their bowels and shitting in the ride, causing a 20 minute delay to clean their mess up.

This is only my opinion but the primary reason flaming lost its ability to engage and entertain a community is that the community itself changed.
The people who came along after flaming became "a thing" had different objectives, scruples, styles, and boundaries than what had been the norms before.
It's like calling both stream panning and mountain-top strip-mining "resource extraction" and pretending there's no difference, even though one is undeniably more destructive and unsustainable.
I suppose the attitudes of the audience changed as well but I don't know for sure which happened first: the shift in what was provided or the shift in what was acceptable. It seemed to me at the time the shift first happened in what sort of material was being presented as "flaming" and the audiences, perhaps out of an overabundance of patience or maybe just nostalgia, either acceded to the new paradigm or wandered off in search of other amusements.
Flaming as it was practiced back when it earned the right to call itself a phenomenon could break out again any time, anyplace.

I really think there's a certain amount of jealousy attached to the BH/FC days from those who wernt privy to it. Boards that had a lot of members posting, great content, etc. i think ppl miss that instead of the same morons posting the same shit over and over. Well is it not true that a lot of these "community" members are like wandering shit posting gypsies that are intellectually incapable of joining websites dedicated to specific interests like pop culture, movies, writing etc. How many people are currently posting at other websites that are not BF or BC or vanforums or any of the other sites TWAP has linked at his KOF site.

Bauhaus' first studio album 'In The Flat Field' is pretty good, and 'The Sky's Gone Out' has some great songs too.

Websites that allow you free reign to post whatever artistic content you want to so that others can read and comment if they so chose is better than a forum designed for a specific topic.
Call outs on these sites are simply contests hosted by other members and revolve around prompts or just writing prose/poetry about a specific subject. It's like the old high school literature club where members would enjoy each others writings.
Actually the Playstation network linked website is about as busy as BC since to this day, hardly anyone has a bloody Playstation 5 and that subforum hardly gets any new posts. The PS4 subforum is busier.
