Last week I decided to take a mile walk up to the closet market. It's a beautiful walk down back roads....lots of nature and farms. Cute little local market. And I always see animals. Normally disgusting muskrats and adorable chipmunks
Well this time, on my way back I had my head phones on (which I know isnt a great decision when I'm walking alone but I did it anyway) and I felt something bumping into my butt. Scared me too death. I turn around and it's a baby deer....adorable little spotted fawn yelling at me and following me lol.
It followed me nearly the whole way back to my house and the whole time I'm telling it how cute it is but it needs to run along because I did NOT want momma hearing it cry, seeing ME by her baby and hooving me too death in the middle of a Michigan back road. Which would have been such a pure MI death right up there with a drunken fishing accident.
And then I thought about how my husband and family would have to explain to people for years that I died on my way back from a market by getting stomped too death on the side of the road. Which really tickled me :laugh3:
I hope when I die it's at least funny lol
I saw a cute little mule deer fawn on my farm last month. I shot it and made sausages and jerky out of it.

Here in MI we are not permitted to kill any young ones. I think the bucks have to have 8 points or more in order to hunt them.
My daughter got a really fat doe(she wasnt pregnant) on her last hunt we still have a ton of meat from.
