My Indonesian uncle and my aunty divorced after 15 years... he married another Indonesian in his 50s and had two children. So if your mothers tell you, you have to get married and have kids they make you marry someone... that is most Asian cultures. I am surprised your mum and dad haven't made you do that yet.

Im in a weird cycle of life lately. Not really knowing if I want to be single, or if I dont. I miss the affection mostly. Empty house is a lil depressing too, which is why I go out and do things so much. BUT, if I was in a relationship, I wouldnt be able to do whatever I wanted.
Been single over 2 years now, longest ever. I entered my first relationship when I was 16, until I was 35. Then my next one from 36-43. Its weird not being in a relationship.
I couldnt have lady friends in either relationship, both were extremely jealous types. So its nice being able to have lady friends again, and not worry what I say on the internet either lol (they would spy on me).

I was actually watching YouTube videos about that "sister wives" show. It's disgusting. The man is a total piece of shit abuser and the women are miserable. The kids are miserable.

I'm nothing like that. If I know a man is married or committed....my subconscious even knows he is off limits and I dont even notice any attraction. It's like a "nope" switch flips.

When I was in aftercare....by this time I was married and this was before I got pregnant....I started getting messages from the husband on FB.
Just wrote me out of nowhere doing small talk and then started to ask me how my marriage was and how his wasnt so great. I was immediately disgusted. Screen shotted it. Blocked him. And I was VERY close to putting him on blast right on FB. I did ream him out before blocking him too. I told him that perhaps his marriage sucks because instead of working on it he is trying to bang women he barely knows.
BUT him and his wife had a little 3 year old girl. So instead of putting him on total blast on FB... I went to the pastor's wife the next day and we talked about it and decided I would just send the wife the screen shots.
Obviously he was asked to leave the church band (fired). She blocked me without responding and they left the church all togther(just over my screen shots.....I guess him hitting on women from the program was a thing and i was far from the only one..but the only one that ratted on him)
I saw a disgusting predatory man who was attempting to use a power dynamic he believed he had to manipulate and use vulnerable women trying to rebuild their lives after drugs, alcohol, abuse, trafficking. I was really offended.
It didnt help that he kinda resembled Gomer Pile from Full Metal Jacket.
Shes still with him to this day and he is a piece of total shit. Acting like some man of God and trolling for strange out of church congregations.

In retrospect I can laugh about it because half of that year was basically a silly contest to see which of us could make the other throw in the towel first.
The first and only relationship like that I'll ever have.
I picked up a few handy early deal-breakers from it though, so at least it wasn't a total loss.
These days I just don't even care about any of that.
If I happen to meet someone and it clicks: Shiny!
If I never do then that's cool as well.
I've never been one of those people who *had* to have a relationship or even people around me all the time.
Suppose you could say I'm unusually comfortable with my own company.

A Melbourne couple found guilty of secretly enslaving a woman in their suburban home for close to a decade have been jailed for their "crime against humanity".
Kandasamy and Kumuthini Kannan on Wednesday appeared in Victoria's Supreme Court where they were convicted for subjugating the woman, which ultimately left her in hospital weighing just 40 kilograms.
Kumuthini Kannan, 53, was ordered to spend eight years behind bars.
Her husband, Kandasamy Kannan, 57, was ordered to serve six years.
It is the first time a case solely about slavery by domestic servitude has been aired in an Australian court and, prosecutors say, the longest period of enslavement the nation has ever seen.
But the court heard the couple still did not accept that they forced the Indian grandmother into servitude, and continued to "strenuously" profess their innocence.
The couple's legal team has already indicated that they may be preparing an appeal.
During a sentencing which was watched by almost 200 people, and which stretched to almost three hours, Justice John Champion took aim at the couple.
"Slavery is regarded as a crime against humanity," he said.
"Your offending occurred in the daily presence and with the obvious knowledge and comprehension of your children.
"You set them a deplorable example of how parents should act towards another human being.
"Her life was controlled largely in the privacy of your own home and care was taken by you to keep her true status from others in your community ... so that your dirty secret was maintained.
"This court publicly condemns you both for your disgraceful conduct."
Justice Champion branded the couple as "almost compulsive liars".
"The number and brazen quality of the lies has been nothing short of astonishing," he said.
"I'm quite convinced that you both believe you have done nothing wrong.
"Neither of you have shown remorse or contrition."

Modern white women can be a headache though.... I say this as a guy who has a great gal and a great daughter both with hearts of gold... but we were picky and we just clicked....so through no fault of our own, whiteness was preserved. Lulz
I once viewed old men with younger Asian wives as sad.... then I started noticing young guys in their twenties and thirties with Asian brides roughly their same ages... and really happy/into each other.... so I asked myself why....

I think when you talk about Australins marrying Asians, you really mean women from the Philippines. Possibly a couple more neighbouring countries. I don't know what the divorce rate is for those unions compared to national averages. A lot more Korean and Japanese men look for wives from the Philippines than Western men do.
Women from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and possibly the richer cities in China aren't looking to leave their countries and join a guy they met online. Actually, Canadian English teachers in Korea who marry Korean men and women, their spouses don't want to leave and be separated from their friends and family. They want them to stay in Korea.

Marriage is obsolete... It serves no purpose.
It only compromises your finances since its not binding anymore and there is no punishment for breaking the vows anymore.
When you are not married, you are not compromised when the break up happens.
Is it though?
The foundation of a healthy society is the family unit. This isn't even a debate, its proven that children do much better in a home with a mother and a father.
How are fatherless homes serving society? Remember.....today's children will be running the world one day.
Men and women can be together without the wedding.
The potentially pissed off divorced partner isnt so good for the kids either.
Regular break-ups arent as nasty.

The solution isn't abolishing marriage. The solution is taking it more seriously and making other centered love and sacrifice culturally valuable again.
Because the road we are on now is a very bad one. Its leading us into increasing human rights abuses.
The family is VERY important if we want a civil society. We need to recover from the lie of the "one", and adjust our expectations to reflect reality. Family and partnerships are not meant to exist in a perpetual state of limerace. And the cycle is....people raised from broken homes lack the tools and ability to nurture sustainable bonds on which to grow a deep and enduring relationship. So you have more broken homes created.
If we want real change and real progress we have to reverse the damage done to the family unit and start helping people to get....and stay....married. That's just our reality.

Marriage in its current form is meaningless...
It used to be enforced by the law and the woman had to be protected by the man.
Now women can make it on themselves.
Without marriage, the children are more likely to have both parents present since the relationship doesnt end with the man being humiliated.
I dont see a fix to the marriage unless the government passes a bill to punish divorcees... And those who otherwise break the agreement.
Also... Feminism needs to be destroyed.
