Title: Christmas shopping
Post by: Trump’s Niece on October 29, 2022, 01:18:23 PM
I'm almost done! Was smart and started early.

It felt good to tell my hub "don't worry babe, I got it" this year.

He feels the kids should get one big toy and that's it. You know Mama Bear can't have that

Why would you shop now, Erica?

Don't Americans generally wait for November Black Friday Dealz?

I don't wait til the last minute anymore, Joe. I like to be prepared. It helps with the anxiety.

...so is it mainly big ticket items where Americans will wait for Black Friday Sales, Erica?

I'm certainly interested in some tech items if they sell way below normal selling price. I missed some deals in the past & wished I'd jumped on them sooner.

I'll keep a lookout this year.

We get Black Friday sales in Canada now too.

At least online they have them.

I've got most of it done. Still a few items to buy yet.

I don't buy that much for my 2 sons anymore. My Mom lives with us and spoils them with toys. My Dad overdoes it too with the gifts. Then my husband's parents buy for them as well. Our house looks like a Toys R Us store by the day after Boxing Day.

I don't know what to get my little granddaughter again this year. She will be almost two and a half at Christmas day.

Same here.  My mom keeps it reasonable and just gives the girls one gift. Then my husband and I set a money limit on all three (it's not hard and fast.....but it's usually one big thing they want and some other things). And they each get a largish Christmas sock full of little things and silly stuff.

My husbands mother and father divorced a long time ago and both are remarried.  So the girls also get a bunch of gifts from his mother and step dad....and then his father and step mom.

Every year when fall hits I do a yearly organizing where we purge everything we dont use, wear or toys that do not get played with.....just to make room and avoid having way too much stuff.

Isn't it terrific having your Mom live with you while your kids are young. I like having her here and so do my boys.

You probably have a stable and nurturing mother. Mine was 17 when she had me and my grandmother was the one who raised me. My mom has always been more like an older sister.

The girls definately have fun with her.  Its probably different here because my mother is very dependent on me.

  But yeah it's fun lol
