For the first time since 1973, only one Canadian team will make the playoffs..
Good luck Montreal and will you cheer for them?
Oh, are the Canucks out of the playoffs? I haven't been paying much attention since they were kicked out of the playoffs a couple of days ago.
:x
Oh well! I did get to enjoy some of the best years in Canucks history. Time to rebuild. I really hope Calgary and Edmonton make the playoffs soon enough. It's been way too long.
I shall be rooting for Les Habitants! I always go any Canadian team.
In 1973, Montreal was the only Canadian team and ended up winning the Cup.

I didn't know that fact Romero..
I hope history repeats itself.

I had a chance to go see the Oilers play their final game of the season against the Canucks on Saturday, but we have something else on the go that night.

I am not sure who the Calgary Flames will play in their final game?
Calgary plays at home against the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow night, then it's on the road for their final game Sunday against... Vancouver!

I know it makes no difference now, but I would like to see Calgary close out their season with wins.
Then we shall commence the 1st annual ACC Battle of the Basement!
Upcoming games:
Vancouver @ Edmonton Saturday
Calgary @ Vancouver Sunday
Good luck, and may the best team win!

I would guess the that Vancouver will beat both Edmonton and Calgary..
I don't want to guess the final scores though.
The Oil lost 3-0 to the Kings last night. Also, I heard Ryan Smith might retire after Saturday's game. He has been such a big part of this community for so long that he is the first name that pops into my head when I think of the Oilers. An analogy would be Trevor Linden in Vancouver. Maybe Ryan Smith will get a job with the organization.
The Oil beat the Canucks 5-2 last night to close out yet another disappointing season. It was Ryan Smyth's final game, so I wish now I had went to the game.
Montreal Canadiens will play Tampa Bay Lightning in the first playoff round.
That was quite a night for Ryan Smyth! One of the great unsung heroes. A warrior in front of the net. He ended up being at the top of so many Oiler records, right up there with the likes of Gretzky, Messier, Kurri and Anderson.
And now the results of the 2014 ACC Battle of the Basement Cup!
Vancouver defeated Calgary, but Vancouver lost to Edmonton. Edmonton wins!
Congrats, Shen Li!

I didn't find out the final score in the Calgary vs. Vancouver game?
It was 2 to 0 for Vancouver at the end of period one.

Haha, the best person won. ;) Damn, I could kick myself for not going to that final game. I could've gotten out of our Saturday night invite.
That is a shame, but you didn't know.

I was just reading that Daniel Sedin was taken out of the game on a stretcher. :o
That looked bad. But he's okay! I've been waiting for an update this morning and they've had a press conference. They were being super careful last night but he's not injured.

That's good. The article I read was light on details.

They're just as Canadian or Canadien as you are!
In Canada, they're the "Canadians", "Canadiens", "Les Habs" or whatever you want!
They're also pretty good Olympians and Canadian Forces too.

We are going watch the playoffs when we get a chance..
I hope Montreal does well.

I don't think of David as a French language name. Anyway, he's popular among the fans here.
The Habs won last night. Just 15 more to go and the 21 year drought is over.
My heart's with the Habs, but I went with a couple of Tampa Bay players in my office hockey pool. Sorry! A hockey pool is no place for silly emotions and loyalties. It's about the money.

YAAAHOOOOOOO!!! Ya see what a positive influence The Iron Chink has been on a kid like you!! ;)
But Montreal is up 2-0. What have I done? How could I have strayed? After Montreal won last night, I laid curled up in a fetal position under the shower for hours. Yet nothing could wash away my shame. :(
Eh, it's still a best of seven.

Good for the Montreal Canadiens.
Big surprise is that Chicago is down 2 zip.
Montreal sweeps Tampa Bay and becomes the first team to make it to the second round!
Romero becomes the first idiot to lose players in his hockey pool!
A good amount of rest for the Canadians may be quite an advantage.

St. Louis put together a great team this year but it's real tough trying to win in Chicago. 2-1 now!

Congratulations to the Montreal Canadiens who eliminated the Boston Bruins in game seven of their series..
They will face the New York Rangers in the next round.
What a great series! Speed beats brawn this time.
A recent pic of the Tim Horton's in Montreal's Bell Centre:

All those unsold donuts? Boston Creams! The Boston Maples did well though.
^^Ha, too funny.
The new series between Montreal and the New York Rangers begins Saturday I heard?
Yep, Saturday 11am Alberta time!

who cares....the habitants are only canadian when they want money.....the rest of the time they are frenchie separatists....fuck them and their team... a bunch of whiny welfare bums....true dat
They're Canadien, not Canadian!
They're not a bunch of separatist welfare bums. The Canadiens are owned by the Molson family and most of the staff and players aren't even French Canadian.
Well, goalie Carey Price is expected to be out of the series after a big collision in game one. It'll be interesting to see how Montreal will respond!
Canadien .... Canadian ..... they are down 2 zip at moment

That's the only thing that is on the minds of the Canadi@n players.

Hi Fash, that's good Montreal lives another day.
But today is another day
Too bad, they're out. I hope Canadiens fans had a good time and better luck next year!
The Montreal rookie goalie that had to take over for Carey Price did pretty well! Thrown into quite the experience.

Ha ha!
Hey, they're making a Corner Gas movie. There was a Kickstarter campaign to raise money from fans. Its goal was to raise $100,000 in thirty days and it raised $125,000 in one day. Donations came in from as far way as Australia, China, India and even... Kyrgyzstan! Quite the following!
Congratulations to the Montreal Canadiens on their impressive playoff performance.
The Los Angeles Kings now have a commanding two games to zero lead in the Stanley Cup playoff finals after yesterday's overtime victory.
The Los Angeles Kings can sweep the New York Rangers tomorrow night.
LA wins their second Cup on home ice in three years by defeating the Rangers in five!
Last night was one the most exciting games I've ever seen. Over eighty minutes of nonstop action and intensity.
Now what the heck am I going to do all summer? Go out and do stuff?

Golf? It's hard enough watching the World Cup!
I've been enjoying the World Cup, but no Canadian team kinda sucks.
