Post by: Trump’s Niece on November 22, 2022, 10:26:22 AM
What are your plans?

Me and my daughter are cooking at my MIL's house, so we can all be with my FIL. Turkey, ham, the works.

Our Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October. We had a big feast. Mom made her famous bat soup. We had stuffed pangolin, kitty cat casserole and civet salad. For dessert we had monkey brain brownies swimming in rattlesnake sauce. I imagine everybody's mouths are watering right now.

I'm just cooking usual Thanksgiving stuff.  For us it's a chill holiday.

My oldest daughter and her girlfriend will likely be coming over. My husband actually has this Tday off(he works in a hopsital....holidays off arent really a thing for hospital staff). He usually works on Thanksgiving so he can get Christmas but he is getting both off this year.

So everyone will be home at least

I think I'm gonna make like 4 cornish hens for the cats lol.

When we had our Thanksgiving dinner at my farm in October, the star attration was the turkey I slaughtered. We also had some Ukrainian and Mongolian and Northern Chinese grub. Plenty of barrel wash and weed.

Waiting on my Pumpkin Roll to cool, so I can unroll it, and add my creamcheese icing, then roll it back up and put it in the fridge.

Turkey in the oven, will come out at 3.

Later I'll make my homemade baked beans and homemade mac n cheese. Along with some gravy and some biscuits.

Son bringing stuffing. Aunt bringing green beans with those lil white taters in it lol.

I'm about to pop my turkey in the oven.

I made garlic and rosemary butter last night. Brined the turkey and stuffed the garlic rosemary butter under the skin. Shoved onion and lemon up its ass and let it sit in the fridge.

I just rubbed the whole bird down with the rest of the soft garlic butter and doused it with olive oil and I'm waiting for the pre heat to finish.  Than in it goes.

I'm making pumpkin cookies by request and cast iron apple CRISP.

I didnt bother with stuffing because unless I make oyster stuffing (I learned that in the dirty south) no one eats it.

I'll probably do that for Christmas. We might do turkey again on Christmas this year.

Just got off the phone with my great aunt. We use to have fried rabbit on Christmas, and she is feeling nostalgic. She wants rabbit and squirrel "one more time before she dies" lol. Nice!!!!

Love some cast iron apple crisp lol. I miss oyster stuffing, and thought of it when I made fried oysters this past weekend lol.

Just got off the phone with my great aunt. We use to have fried rabbit on Christmas, and she is feeling nostalgic. She wants rabbit and squirrel "one more time before she dies" lol. So, she said we gonna do Christmas at her place instead this year. My Great Grandma use to make damn good fried rabbit and rabbit gravy. Miss it so much.

I'm getting togther with my best friend in the first week of December and we are gonna cook civil war era rations like high tack and hellfire stew.

We decided we needed more of a socail life so once a month we are getting togther to cook food from all kinda of eras.

He makes his own whiskey and wine.....and MEAD.

That was the strongest damn shine I think I ever had lol, FUCK! I was fine, next I wasnt lol. I somehow made it to my bed and passed out lol. Family done ate and left before I got up lol. So I still havent ate since Wednesday lol. Ugh.

Sorta lol. Upon inspection, the mac n cheese got devoured, but they saved me a couple bites lol, same with my baked beans. The stuffing that was brought, got took back with them. The green beans and taters that were brought are still in the pot on the stove hahaha, same with the biscuits, 2 left, out on the stove, and the gravy. Half the pumpkin roll got ate.

I havent inspected the turkey yet, they did put that in the fridge thank fuck. It was a beautiful turkey when I pulled it out. Just talked to my Great Aunt, she was worried about me. She told me they made her use the electric carving knife cause they were scared to use it hahahaha. So she said "dont laugh when you see the turkey" lolol. Said she fucked it all up. I told her how I was so excited to eat a turkey leg.... and she said "well, your son took the legs, and I took the wings", FUCK!!!! lolol, all my fault though. Just looked at the turkey, them bastards took all the good meat hahaha.

I was fine, I had a strong chocolate beer around 1pm. I had 2 shots of whiskey between 2-4pm. Then my Mexican neighbor brought over that homemade shine, had fruit in it. I only had 2 shots of it. Girllllll, it FUCKED me up!!! I was DONE. I dont even remember what happened, and I never go blackout mode. Last thing I remember seeing, was my great aunt getting there, setting down the bag that had the canned green beans in it that still needed to cook, and that was it. From there, I somehow wound up on top of my bed. My aunt when she called a few ago to check on me, she was telling me what happened lol. I never get like that, she was thinking I got a bad batch, and was about to send the police to my house for a wellness check this morning lol. I asked her what happened after she got there, and she said I was gonna give my nephew a hug, and I fell backwards, and they had to walk me to my room lol. I have NO memory of any of that lol.

I felt so bad, for the night winding up like that, missing dinner with family, didnt get to go hunting this morning. I also felt like shit when I woke later lol, shaking, freezing, still tipsy. That shit wasnt right.

BTW!!!!! Your spread looked really good!!!! Were the rolls homemade? That looks like my mac n cheese lol. Same dish too!

My aunt said the same lol.

Nice on the rolls. Awwww, thats great! Im curious if its like mine (my Mom's recipe). I boil the noodles, drain 'em, put 'em back in the pot, and add a stick of butter, salt and pepper, and stir it up. Then in the dish, I scoop a thin layer of noodles, then add a bunch of cheddar, then noodles, then cheddar, and do that til I get to the top. Then I pour some milk all over it, and bake it. They literally left me 2 bites hahaha, the bastards lol.

I'm not too sure what the other thing is. Could be green bean casserole....that's a popular Tday side.

We only recently got a taste for sweet potatoes. My sons love sweet potato fries from the airfryer. Anyway, we don't do that many sides. I know some of them will end up in the garbage.

Compared  to the US, Thanksgiving is a minor celebration in Canada tho it is still observed as a national Holiday inn eRly October.

We were told about the Pilgrims & the Mayflower as kids by our teachers. But there were no pilgrims in Canada. It was all made up. All those events occurred on the Atlantic or East Coast of the US.

Bit maybe since America & Canada were ruled by the British thats how the holday made its way up here as it may have been a common one in the North American British colonies. So Thanksgiving must have predated the founding of the US as a nation.

That's how it's eaten! Where you been, Shen?!

I like the taste of pumpkin filling. Why would I drown out that taste with fatty, sugary cream.

I too believe left coasters are the culprits.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals posted a tweet the day before Thanksgiving that depicted a family of turkeys, or more specifically human bodies with turkey heads, preparing to eat a human being for dinner.

"POV: The dinner tables turned & a family is gathering around your dead body to share why they're thankful," PETA tweeted.

Jerry Dunleavy of the Washington Examiner mockingly replied to the post, tweeting, "the turkeys must be destroyed before they rebel against us."

Something too sweet can be too rich, and makes ya not wanna finish it. Something jus right gets devoured lol.

Same with my pumpkin roll, which I think is why everyone likes it so much lol. I have to make like 5 every year around the holidays. Each roll gets like 15 servings.

Yes, the deer had 9 points on his antlers. 2nd biggest I've gotten, as the biggest is a 10 pointer on my wall. I couldnt of asked for a better shot, it was a hole in one hahaha.
