Exactly, and another thing is the person calling 911 might not be telling the real or precise truth too. Police are trained to not believe everything without solid evidence, especially in very dangerous situations after arriving and hearing gun shots at the scene. Lets not forget their life (the officer's) is also a "human life" and should be taken as first priority like in nearly all emergency training.

Police are trained to not believe everything without solid evidence, especially in very dangerous situations after arriving and hearing gun shots at the scene. Lets not forget their life (the officer's) is also a "human life" and should be taken as first priority like in nearly all emergency training.

Videos like this make me reconsider keeping all my weapons loaded. I do not right now. I only keep a handgun loaded currently.
Here in Australia, it is illegal to keep our subpar weapons outside of a dedicated locker or loaded at any time, and the agreement with the firearms licence is that authorities can show up any time of the day or night to inspect the weapons. While that doesn't happen often, especially at night or without a courtesy call, it does happen when they're trying to entrap, investigate, prosecute someone or just shake them down because an altercation just took place on your sidewalk and you sided with the cop's victim/s.
There are multiple layers on how they go about it even while trespassing on your property and being told to vacate (fuck off).
I've had numerous home interactions where I filmed what was going on from my own property and was ordered to stop and desist, or the Aussie cops would take my phone and charge me with me obstruction... from my fucking doorstep.
Each and every time I'd calmly remind them that they're bullies, thieves, and thugs.... and that a decent human being with no other skills can still aspire to janitor or gas station attendant... oh, and get THE FUCK OFF OFF MY PROPERTY.
I'd also ask them if they were still in 10th grade when "The Cloud" system came out. And most of them are like "whatz thatz?"... and I'm like... my phone is irrelevant now but the footage of you demanding my phone is global.
Just as an aside though, I own no firearms here in Oz.
...but I could out-shoot 80 percent of them.... after pistol whipping them with their own gun.

Dude, this not a video game where there's a name tag or team names displayed over peoples head. The cops arrived at the scene and saw and heard the suspect shooting into his own home, shooting a potentially highly dangerous person is ALWAYS justified. I wouldn't say he was trigger happy, it's hard to say, I wasn't able to see the suspect in the body cam footage. Considering the US is plague with gun violence, I understand the cop for doing what was necessary based on the situation so he can go home for the day to see his wife and kids.
Sure it ain't stupid when there are A LOT of people that are quick to criticize the police for not fulfilling their expectations, not just 5, I'm sure there's millions of them. No offence intended, but if everyone thinks like this, we won't even have a police force or an army to begin with.
I don't ever see paying tax is a justified excuse considering law enforcement and national defense are the most stressful job in the world and severely underpaid. The only way to get better service is to stop demoralizing and help out OR pay more taxes to hire more police officers considering they're always under budget, more training, and 2 to 3x the wage, that's how police corruption are fixed in most countries.

I've had exposure to cops from many a nation and the one thing that stands out is that they nearly all have penis envy/shame.... and the ones who didn't, got out asap and will tell you the same thing.
When you understand the difference between a "peace keeper" as opposed to a "law enforcement officer" (LEO), it will all come together and make sense.
I never invite LEO's into family or friends functions. I have a brother who still is and I've told him if he wants to visit me from half way around the world, he can. But he won't be entering my property or staying anywhere on the land. We can go places together or even on long trips, but separate rooms.
Because I know what that motherfucker's psyche is capable of. He would ring up a local police unit at the first chance should any of us do the smallest thing he didn't agree with, even in a foreign country. He literally looks for reasons to get one over family.
He got one over my mum when she sold the family farm to him under the proviso he wouldn't resell for a profit.

Thats just sickening. Sadly, some cops here are starting to act like that. Then again, the courts have re-affirmed our 2nd Amendment rights so the flip side is cops are prone to getting mowed down here.

A couple I've met at the police department have a strict and serious impression, which doesn't bother me one bit, there's just doing their job and how a stereotypical police should be.
The squad I've met after getting into a street fight with 3 punks were very nice and sympathetic, the one that was interacting with the witnesses was very proud that I didn't flee from the fight.
The the women police offier that told me to pull over for a random check notice I didn't look too happy, once she saw my face she kindly said I'm free to go and gave me a very warm smile.
The other police officer that gave me a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign look like some German SS soldier, really cool guy and was only concerned about my safety.
Before I was told to go to a maximum security pyschiatric ward for a analysis, the team leader was a man of principles, the women cop was very motherly and kind, the white cop was very nice and try to keep me cool down and was extremely considerate of what he was saying.
That's pretty much my story in a nutshell with the police.

How much time elapsed between him telling the guy to drop his weapon, and when the first shot was fired. That is my main issue with the whole thing.
I do agree with you Kiebs, I believe the police have the rights and protocol to shoot down an potentially dangerous suspect, as long as a life is being threaten due to e.g gun fire from the suspect, suspect springs forward with a sharp opject, etc, lethal force is justified. The weird thing is why tell the suspect to drop his weapon and shoot him like in the next split second, I assume the reason is Singh might have turned around towards the officer along with his gun, not too sure though as the cop's arm was blocking the view.

You need to understand if someone is pointing a gun at you, in order to preserve yourself or life, you must be prepared to do something, even if it means shooting down a women or children, else criminal organizations might just hire children as hitman and get your own police force murdered very quickly.

What happened was extremely unfortunate, I might not sound like it but I really feel bad for Singh every time I think about him, but at the same time you need to understand and look it at the police perspective; When you see someone shooting with a big gun and hear gun shots, the police will definitely be very concerned, you don't have the time analysis or even think, you must "act" before someone gets killed based on the situation. Prowler thinks the police should look go look for safe cover, the problem is the suspect have already fired his gun, people can be killed any second and there's no time to lose <<<again the police are the first to arrive at the scene and don't know the whole story>>>, if innocents gets killed the public will blame the police for why they didn't take down the suspect, either way the cops are screwed by the news media. Even if the police have cover and traded fire with Singh <<<wouldn't be the case after understanding from the whole news report but again you need to understand based on what the situation looks like - the suspect gave the impression he could be a intentional killer>>>, again this is a residential neighborhood with people living in it, if someone gets shot in the cross fire the police will be blamed again. Basically the cops have no choice but to take down the suspect.
Again why didn't the police shouted "POLICE, DROP YOUR WEAPONS", again the situation was already very tense based what ever clues or information the police have and shots were already fired at the scene, the police "must" take action, nothing else matters much based upon the scenario. Maybe the police have some kind of PTSD or was concern the suspect was a cop hater and wanted to start a gun fight or something else, the possibilities/risk are just endless.
This is what I have to say, in regards to how we view the police force in general or politically is another story.
In regards to your questions, I have never joined the police force, I only worked as a admin staff and struggle with my disorder and started my own business as a DTG technician. Though my 2nd brother does have something related, like you he practice some kind of kungfu along with judo, then worked as a security guard at some mall/factory, joined the army at the legal age, then he got a diploma in law enforcement, a degree in criminal psychology, a master in security management, became a school teacher and started another degree in public admin but dropped out, then worked as a news reporter/journalist for 2 companies, then got a MBA, and took 5 courses, one about political science, military history, and can't remember the rest as it's it's too much to remember. After he joined a non-profit Christian organization promoting some kind of mental/social health program, then he worked for my dad's company, and came back to Canada to work for a federal post as a correctional officer in a maximum security prison, then when back in HK he become a landlord, now he's applying for some kind of federal post something related to political ties and military strategic analysis/advisor.

Though my 2nd brother does have something related, like you he practice some kind of kungfu along with judo, then worked as a security guard at some mall/factory, joined the army at the legal age, then he got a diploma in law enforcement, a degree in criminal psychology, a master in security management, became a school teacher and started another degree in public admin but dropped out, then worked as a news reporter/journalist for 2 companies, then got a MBA, and took 5 courses, one about political science, military history, and can't remember the rest as it's it's too much to remember. After he joined a non-profit Christian organization promoting some kind of mental/social health program, then he worked for my dad's company, and came back to Canada to work for a federal post as a correctional officer in a maximum security prison, then when back in HK he become a landlord, now he's applying for some kind of federal post something related to political ties and military strategic analysis/advisor.
I "understand" what you're saying. But I still think the officer had a moment to announce he was law enforcement, which is procedure I would think. Its not like the officer was out hunting deer, he coulda said something.
This "no hesitation" bullshit is an abomination to innocents who could be targeted, like this guy. Nor do I approve of military grade stuff in the hands of law enforcement. If military is needed, send in the military.

I do agree with you and Kiebs on the part the cops should have told Singh who they where, which would have prevented his death. I assume this whole incident lies in a very very grey area, we don't know what was going in the officer's mind at that moment or what was Singh doing <<<since the cop's body cam blocked the view of Singh", too much to assume with what we know.

We had to bullets go through our house growing up in the boonie years... one through the upper part of my bedroom wall. We never heard it though. Just saw it.
It was roughly .22 LR sized, but .22 LR gets good range.
People in a fully nearby wooded range obviously were shooting for shits and giggles or someone was shooting at a squirrel. These bullets managed to get a clear path through hundreds and hundreds of trees and still have enough punch to get through cedar siding, insulation, and drywall.

Even if the police are as heroic as you expect them to be and wouldn't hesitate to disregard their life to even save the suspect, the truth is training a police doesn't come cheap. During WWII, aside from factors like production and lack of fuel, this is one of the biggest reasons why Japan lost so badly to the US, it's b/c they don't value the lives of their own ppl.

I had a similar thing happen to me because I used to play a lot of driving video games like Need for Speed and Burnout and was very accustomed to driving recklessly but being completely unharmed and having my car repaired immediately...this led me to being involved in many multiple car pileups in my teens when I would frequently drive at one hundred miles per hour like I needed to get past a check point within a certain amount of time...when the cops would eventually flash me I'd feel compelled to lead them on high-speed chases as I crashed through barricades, destroyed hot dog vendor carts while driving on the sidewalk...and eventually ended up flying off a bridge and landing in a river, where I had to be rescued.
I lost my license, but that's no problem now since the company provides me with my own personal driver who takes me wherever I want to go.

I still stand by what I said to Zemajor tsunior earlier about the superintendant - he took out a ton of trash in the corrupt pigs department, along with saving my bacon on more than one occasion. Actually, he was the first person to assure me that if I ever found myself with a damaged and disabled intruder on my property, my best option was to dump them in the gutter before any cops showed up and deny all knowledge of how they got there.

Ten people were killed and at least 10 others were injured when a gunman opened fire at a ballroom dance studio in Monterey Park on Saturday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The mass shooting, one of California's worst in recent memory, happened in the 100 block of West Garvey Avenue at around 10:22 p.m., sheriff's Capt. Andrew Meyer told reporters Sunday morning.
There was scant information on the suspect: Male and still at large. There is no known motive, nor a description of the shooter.
My guess is its an asian on asian hate crime caused by white men.

The incident unfolded in the city of Blumenau in the south Brazil near the Atlantic coast on Wednesday.

The writings and so-called manifesto of the Nashville, Tennessee Christian school shooter, Audrey Hale, are being reviewed for release to the public, Metro Nashville Police Department officials told The Epoch Times on Thursday.
"We are in the process of going through the writings so that they can and will be released publicly," MNPD Public Affairs Officer Kristin Mumford told The Epoch Times in a phone call. "The FBI is assisting because they have the expertise in this area, but we are the lead, and the release will come through us."
Mumford said that currently there is no timeline for this review, but that the materials left by Hale will be made available to the public. Mumford added the review is in order for redactions to be made if necessary.
The news comes exactly one month since Hale killed six, including three nine-year-old children, at The Covenant School on March 27. She was shot and killed by MNPD officers 14 minutes after her attack on the school began.

Authorities found multiple people shot inside a home about 55 miles northeast of Houston, five of whom have died. All were shot "almost execution style" from the neck up.
The youngest victim, who reportedly died at the hospital, was just 8 years old. Four other victims were found dead at the scene.
Two female victims were found in a bedroom laying on top of two surviving children. Capers said he believed the women were trying to shield the children, who were unharmed.
Ten people, all from Honduras, were inside the home when the shots rang out. Some in the house had just moved from Houston earlier in the week.
The alleged shooter, a 39-year-old neighbor whose identity is known to authorities, was reportedly shooting a gun on his porch. Neighbors confronted him about it, asking him to stop, noting that it was disrupting a baby's sleep.
"One of the victims came out of the house saying 'we have a small baby that's trying to sleep,' and the man said 'I'll shoot out in my front yard, do what I want to in my own residence.'"

Charles Foehner was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm after voluntarily turning himself in following a fatal shooting at 123-20 82nd Avenue early Wednesday morning. Foehner, who had a clean record, has an active NYPD firearms permit for a shotgun — just not for the revolver that may have saved his life.
Extra to the weapons charges, the New York Daily News indicated authorities are now looking into whether Foehner should similarly be hit with murder charges.
Outside a parking garage in Kew Gardens, the 65-year-old was allegedly confronted by 32-year-old Cody Gonzalez, born Cody Baum.
Sources told WPIX that Gonzalez had tried breaking into various buildings, smashed several windows and doors, and busted an intercom system. Gonzalez also had an extensive criminal record, with arrests for robbery, burglary and other charges.
In the darkness, Foehner reportedly mistook a pen in the suspect's hand for a knife, but was otherwise certain of his intent. Foehner told police that Gonzalez aggressively demanded money and cigarettes.
In surveillance video of the encounter obtained by WPIX, Gonzalez can be seen aggressively stalking Foehner, initially confronting his would-be victim at a distance of 40 feet. Foehner waves off his would-be mugger to no avail. Gonzalez advances another 20 feet closer, at which point Foehner reportedly draws his silver revolver.

A crazed woman is in custody after allegedly stabbing three people Wednesday at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
According to the City of Atlanta Police Department, officers encountered 44-year-old Damaris Milton brandishing a knife outside the security checkpoint, walking to the South Terminal.
Footage of the incident shows the suspect screaming, pointing the knife threateningly, and taunting police.
