All my favourites.
I love that dude but who is he in America?... he is a singer there.
JIM BARNES was the lead singer on Cold Chisel.
And Ian Moss was his band mate... it was a piss-take on mullet bogan.

Jimmy Barnes was A lead singer of Cold Chisel. Early on in the piece his elder brother John Swan (aka Swannee) was also a lead vocalist of the band until his violent nature led to his dismissal.
And who was that guy who kept on stepping up to the mike whenever Prestwich got Barnsey to throw tantrums and storm out the door, vowing never to return again. Drawing a fucken blank here...

He was part of Cold Chisel... and went on to record MANY albums.
To answer an earlier question, there are certain sectors of the American music industry that are familiar with a few of the names mentioned here. I know this because I am fucking amazing when it comes to paying attention to such matters.
In the case of John Farnham, he was lucky enough to snag a lead vocal slot for three Little River Band albums in between Time Exposure (1981) and Monsoon (1988). Well, I say "lucky", that band was never quite the same after Shorrock and Briggs were kicked out, but with Farnham at center stage LRB would go on to release a string of singles in the US market, only three of which would crack the top 40 there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZePGvMi3rNo
Most didn't even chart.
Barnsey... well, all of Cold Chisel in fact... enjoyed a level of infamy among record execs in both the US and Australia for not bending over and taking it up the arse. Quite the opposite in fact. After telling industry heads in Australia to jam their onerous contracts sideways up the sphincters of various A&R men, Chisel went on to make a name for themselves purely off the sweat of their own backs, tearing the roofs off Blue Light Discos and prisons alike. All with virtually no promotion whatsoever from the mainstream music industry, they carved their place out as one of the premier live acts in Australia, until dickheads like Ian "Molly" Meldrum were forced to talk about this great "new" band to a record buying public who already well knew who they were anyway. Embarrassing! Ultimately they were courted to go to the US, where they were again invited to bend over in return for fame and... well fame at least. The results were predictable, Capitol Records in particular were quite incensed at the reaction and Chisel returned to their faithful fans on familiar shores.
As for Guy Sebastian... bother me not with that wog. Anyone who comes to prominence off the back of appearing on karaoke shows like Australia's Got Talent has assuredly grabbed their ankles on more than a few occasions, especially in a place like Terra Cacktarsis.

Our market is saturated with music.. I cannot keep up with everything... what we need is good song writers... that is what the world really needs. I only listen to the best of the best...
I wished they'd do an Australian Idol type show featuring song writers. THAT is what I would watch.

And I cannot stand Glen Shorrick or whatever his fucking ugly arse name was or maybe I am getting him mixed up with Daryl Braithwaite, yes, I am thinking I am mixing them up...I loved Skyhooks, Squeak ... John Paul Young, John English, Collen Hewett voice, and the Aussie circuit....but really, who was better than the bloody Bee Gees early stuff....?
I had a double album of live pub performanes of John English, I lost it in my house fire. I reckon that would be worth a small fortune now...
I agree with the black dude in ThatSingerReactions... He likes what I like..
I think I go for Folk, Rock and classical and really don't know which is first.... I know what I hate, jazz and rap... Although I can enjoy a jazz or rap song ...as long as its only one track.
I have been showing the black dude Hey Hey It's Saturday where John Farnham meets Tom Jones for the first time and Tom recognizes a perfect peer in John.... the expression on Tom's face is classic.

Hate to break it to you little cupcake, but your woggy friend barely rates a mention out in the US. Only that second thing you posted ever cracked the Billboard Hot 100, and its highest charting position was a measly #71. Your other YouTube linkee doesn't even play here, thanks to whatever licensing deal the karaoke giant signed with his record company. No wonder barely anyone gets his name right, let alone hums along whenever he gets to raping random microphones with that goofy noise you call singing.
One minor hit... and that might be something to lighten your spirits until you realize The Little River Band managed a dozen top 40 hits over a similar period, nine of which featured Glenn Shorrock at the helm, the balance featuring John Farnham. Only one of the latter still gets an airing (and on oldies radios at that) because the US likes Glenn's voice better.
Your problem is you simply don't have your finger on the pulse of what constitutes a hit in the mighty US market. Neither does Guy, which is why he barely warrants a footnote. Even that lanky streak of pelican shit Peter Garrett strikes more of a chord than the names you've mentioned, and he was a bald bastard with dance moves reminiscent of an epileptic with 120 volts up his leg.
Eurovision? Meh, people only remember that anachronism for breaking ABBA to the world fifty years ago. These days it might mean something to homos and fishwives and that's fine if that's the market Guy is chasing. Probably trying to recapture the giddy glee of Molly's gnarled erection basting his bronchial baby-gravy receptacle anyway. There's no sense in you losing your shit over it; Guy Sebastian simply isn't the drawcard you want him to be in a more cultured and discerning nation of music lovers.

Fuck I can't handle Guy Sebastian. He's a complete fagott with a token wife. He is why queers should never sing and pretend to be real men.Look what happed to both Elton John and George Michael! He needs to come out of the closet and give up music for all eternity.
I am a big fan of Sheldon and I think he is most likely gay.. he is on the spectrum apparently but that song he sang at Eurovision he wrote... I think he smashed it out of the ball park.
My husband and sister are fans of Guy... he is a musical genius.... look, when it comes to musical artistry I don't care what they root.. it's their artistry I fall in love with.

Well Flo and Eddie got a few laughs when they lumped her in with bands like Osibisa... dunno if that qualifies her for "biggest star" status. Interestingly enough, her second US single "I Don't Know How To Love Him" was a song she hated, as did Linda Rondstadt who had previously refused to record it outright. Reddy only consented to record it as a B side, Capitol ignored her wishes and America who "has no taste in music" sent it to #12. She'd go on to have two more top 40 hits before releasing "I Am Woman".
A pop music historian you ain't.

They do if they expect to put bums on seats in arenas. Ain't nobody going to pay $200 for one of Johnny Farnham's endless farewell tours if it's just going to be him alone on an empty stage. You at least need a panel headed by Kyle Sandilands to criticize the crap out of him.

Because I prefer honesty to ass kissing. There's nothing Guy Sebastian does that cannot be accomplished by anyone who can carry a tune in a wheelbarrow, provided they also enjoyed the weight of media favour and industry promotion that he did. Oh, and access to a set of shearers clippers too; that afro he was rocking was just plain laughable.

But from now on to the end of the month I am going to have to leave the phone and just go on my pc and I HATE my pc with a passion... it is now sooooo slow like dial up.... I fucking HATE Malcolm Turnbull for wrecking our internet .... hate him.
Now I am winding myself up thinking about my various methods of posting and having to juggle them all.....lol
Yeah... your negativity really pisses me off.. I fucking hate idiots finding fault especially when the singers I named are faultless...
You remind me of a monkey picking mites out of other monkeys. Arses. You stoopid shit!!!.

Nobody is faultless.
*smiles*
Faults can be a virtue though. Even yours.
My work here is done.
To an original visual artist of my calibre SIZE DOES matter, dweeb.. sheesh
Ugh..stick to the topic.. oh thats right, you think the black unnamed dude in my 1st post is faking his response...
... OK so you don't know his name and you think he is fake. Well I think he is great.. I think he is genuine and I still don't know his name. I was hoping flea would help me out but she is over at BF playing silly buggers with Murdy and co.... oh well I tried.
I guess I will have to ask him what his name is... I should have thought of that in the first place.
Wait a minute...

No I wasn't rattled.... I am using my mobile and when I copied the quote to separate the sections I collected both yours and mine names.. I had to edit out every one of mine so next time I do that I will know not to collected both posters... thank God for the cache.
Well I did say "unneccessarily"... you needn't hasten to assure everyone else you weren't... makes you look kinda desperate. But this...
Quote from: caskur post_id=491054 time=1673598061 user_id=2156
And yes... only 500 because I cannot be fagged sitting at my pc downloading youtubes of stuff I love however since I have been making youtube they have like 200000 free songs in various genres... I only have one pair of hands... I haven't got all day to pissfart around and music takes up too much space. send me a couple of usb sticks full of songs so I can put them in my car since you have all day to do nothing.
...seems like an awful lot of work when you could simply hit a torrent site for five minutes, queue up a few random searches and leave them to download as you amuse yourself with whatever it is you do in between spazzing out over the musings of anonymous posters on the net. Still "free" and a lot less effort.
Or you could actually PAY those artists for the songs you like. I mean if they are worthwhile and all, you could always drop a few pennies in their kick... if they were really worth that consideration.
And 5 gigs a month? Damn, that shit wouldn't even last me a WEEK! I've already blown through a gig and a half today just listening to podcasts as I've been wandering about. "How the other half live" and all....
(Okay, NOW my work here is done! ac_biggrin )
Ohh, damn... you ninja'd another post in there as I was replying? Shit, maybe you ARE desperate after all. I can't think of any other reason why you'd keep courting the replies of someone who you reckon pisses you off. :laugh3:

I didn't say that. Where did I say that? I haven't watched his response, I certainly wouldn't be in a position to know if he was faking his orgasms over any of the wogs you've mentioned.

You know what they say... "if at first you don't succeed... try sucking something else." Or something to that effect.

That's a point - go ask him in his comments section. I'm sure he will be most eager to furnish you with what you require.
Tell him about your giant TV in Three Rooms, he is sure to be Awed by it.
TV x 3 Does it bother you that I have 3? i'm sorry.

Not really, I have two TVs in this room alone, though they are unplugged at present. I keep them as spares in case either of my computer monitors fail. I also have a projector hooked up to the PC for watching movies, along with a tablet and two smart phones so I might do the Zoomer thing of watching/listening to stuff in other rooms (say if I'm cooking or taking a dump) or simply chilling on the back porch and feeling like some music to set the mood. I'm not overly fussed that you don't have these things, since I got them to satisfy my requirements.
That is the aim of the game after all. And should they fall short in their duty, I guess I can pull a few more items from storage.
You need big TVs to appreciate the beauty in my photography....

I have a 70 inch in the living room. 50 inch in the bedrooms.
I'm blessed
There's times when a large TV becomes more of a curse than a blessing. I found that out very early on when I started collecting 4K content.
Take Star Wars for example. It was the first movie I saw on the silver screen and plenty of versions exist of it. You certainly aren't stuck for choice should you be in the market for a copy, it is perfectly possible to find versions that have been remastered and rejigged for the latest of TV screens.
I'm a bit of a purist though. I want to recreate the original theater experience I was blown away with as a kid. A large TV screen just isn't gonna cut it. For one thing, even the largest of screens available today are still just too damn small for the purpose and of what is available in monitor real estate, film emulsion gets to looking just plain rotten the larger your screen real estate grows. And okay, a remastered, degrained and digitally noise reduced copy of a master print will take care of a lot of that, but it comes at a cost of the detail of the scenes themselves. Shit starts to soften and blur, smaller details vanish entirely.

All of this is solved the minute one buys a projector, which is what I did. Now I am limited not by the size of the screen, but by the size of the wall (or ceiling) that I am projecting the image on to. In the absence of DNR, film grain looks way more natural and the sharpness and detail are retained.

It's the closest I can get to the original cinema experience short of actually being there. And as I am dipping my toes in an ever growing collection of cinema classics, I think I deserve the option of the most natural representation of them that I can achieve in the comfort of my own home.
That God for YouTube...
