What it says on the tin really. Songs or albums you used to listen to as a kid.
I'll get the ball rolling with one I've been listening to since before I can remember. Used to thread it up on my father's reel to reel after everyone else had gone to bed with a spoon and a tin of drinking chocolate for company... I was two at the time.

Turns out it was the inspiration for Alice Cooper to start painting his face... though NOT the impetus for Michael jackassson and James Hetfield to set fire to their hair.
You don't want me posting new kids on the block vids
I remember hearing the Mamas and Papas California Dreamin.
I remember listening to this tune a lot when I was a child:

One of the animators who worked on it is still alive today:

I was enthralled with this album. My little toddler hands would constantly put it on our record player and turn it up.

This one of theirs never sat right with me...

The song is about a woman grabbing a young man off the side of the road and draining every last drop of sperm from him to get pregnant, then absconding, and in a freak instance, crossing paths later on with their biological child present.
And that fucking bitch is like "please! Please! Understand! I'm in love with another man, and what he couldn't give me (you could *paraphrased*)..
Wtf is that shit?
Dude was lied to and defrauded of being a parent. He was used.
He was a bull hooked up to a dairy milking shed contraption named Feminism.
Every time I've heard that song, I've thought "that boy was raped by tittied pussy monster psychopath"...
She could have asked him for his consent... she didn't.
But people are like...."it's only sperm"... :001_rolleyes:

The Wrecking Crew strikes again!
" The Wrecking Crew was a group of studio musicians in Los Angeles. And yeah, they played the instruments on the Monkee's first 2 albums. But they also played for The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, the Byrds and a whole lot more. They were Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. They played everything from jazz to rock and roll to jingles for television commercials."

Leon Russell was part of that. His second solo effort out from being a session musician is a favourite to this day.

Good stuff! :yahoo:
I dont know too much about that band or the music of that era really....I'm really familiar with classic rock.
I was born in 1980 and when I think of the Monkeys I go right to the show and this..
https://youtu.be/xvqeSJlgaNk
Back in middle and high school my best friend (who is now an indi film director/producer/writer out in CA....which is exactly what he always wanted to do and his films are really good and no....I do not mind saying which ones are him. What are you guys gonna do? Go message him on FB and say "Hey that weirdo short brunette you were besties with in high school is telling stories about your drug use!" so yeah if you guys are interested I'll link his films) he was the only other person I knew who loved the show as a kid too.
So we used steal weed from his dad's stash all the time. His parents would have QPs of super good weed...so yeah we always pinched. His dad admitted to us as adults that he knew the whole time LOL. Anyway we would get super high and my friend would just launch into this chorus and dance around just like Davey there and I would DIE laughing.
Here he is and a list of all his work. I decided to just link it so you guys can browse and check out his stuff. He is one of the best guys ever and I'm super proud of him. He really was one of my rocks growing up. All we ever did was smoke weed and watch movies but sometimes that's all that's needed lol

I really cannot think about The Monkeys without thinking about this guy lol
