Actually any time Canada goes into recession, the value of its currency plummets.
So if it's trading at .75 cents to every US dollar, it could go as low as .60 cents like it has in the past.
Anyways, that's why I'm buying gold, eh? I was planning to buy $30,000 worth of precious metals by next year. Gold, silver, platinum, palladium if I can find it. Copper too.
Cuz, if every currency is measured against gold (Including the U$D, it doesn't matter so much how the Canadian dollar performs, as long as a person diversified and put their holdings into gold, USD, swiss Francs, whateva'.
Mind you, even gold can fall quite a bit during a recession too, so nothing gets spared, but the upside is it falls less than the others I suppose, eh?
