Some countries hardening anti gay laws is a reaction to Canada and the US with drag shows for kids. They see it as a slippery slope.



The same is happening in East Asia with cannabis. Some East Asian countries have toughened their marijuana laws in response to Western countries loosening and even legalizing hard drug possession.

Neither of them seemed very phobic to me. The presenter was genial, even leant forward while asking his questions. And the priest wasn't even invited, he simply showed up and started munching produce when he could have been anywhere else if he really had an irrational fear of the guest.



The only person who showed any fear was the guest... getting up and all but sprinting for the nearest exit. Irrational I'd have thought, what with those two friendly mens there to keep them all safe from harm.
