Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin is leading what he calls a "march for justice" to oust Russia's military leadership. Overnight, the mercenary group's forces seized control of Russian military facilities in Rostov-on-Don, a city of more than a million people near the border with Ukraine. The seizure is significant — Rostov is home to the Russian military headquarters overseeing the military supply line fueling Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
Further Wagner troops are reported to be moving through Vorenezh Oblast, a city about 300 miles north of Rostov-on-Don. An intelligence update from the U.K. Ministry of Defense indicated Wagner units are "almost certainly aiming to get to Moscow."
"With very limited evidence of fighting between Wagner and Russian security forces, some have likely remained passive, acquiescing to Wagner," the Ministry of Defense said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to put down the rebellion. In a televised address Saturday morning, Putin said the mutiny amounted to "a deadly threat to our statehood," vowing there will be "tough actions" in response.
"It is a blow to Russia, to our people," Putin said. "And our actions to defend the Fatherland against such a threat will be harsh."
Prigozhin, a longtime Putin ally, rejected the Russian president's accusations of treason and claimed his forces were fighting "corruption, deceit and bureaucracy" in the Russian military.
It is looking like the the coup at the end of the Soviet Union that tempoararily removed Gorbachew. But, the leader of Wagner says, it's the defense ministry they have their sites on. Interesting times.

The Belarus President's Office has said that Wagner mercenary group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin has agreed to stop the group's lightning-fast advance toward Moscow and to deescalate the situation, with Prigozhin confirming the news in a social media post.
Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus and an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has reportedly held talks with Prigozhin, according to Lukashenko's press service.
The Belarussian president's office added that Lukashenko's talks with Prigozhin had Putin's blessing and that there's a draft agreement on the table that would provide security guarantees for Wagner fighters.
Russian state media TASS reported that a tentative deal has been reached that would halt Wagner's advance toward Moscow, which sparked a pledge from Putin to crush any insurrection.
Prigozhin confirmed in a statement on his Telegram channel that he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine in order to avoid shedding Russian blood.

Yevgeny Prigozhin was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Early in his life, he was a convict and owned a hot dog stand, but later branched out to operate fancy restaurants.
ABC News reported:
In 2010, Putin helped open Prigozhin's factory that was built on generous loans by a state bank. In Moscow alone, his company Concord won millions of dollars in contracts to provide meals at public schools. He also organized catering for Kremlin events for several years — earning him the nickname "Putin's chef" — and has provided catering and utility services to the Russian military."
In 2014, Prigozhin became the leader of the Wagner Group, a private military company that participated in Russia's annexation of Crimea.
PMC Wagner had been fighting alongside Russian military forces in the invasion of Ukraine. Last year, the Kremlin-backed Wagner group attempted to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to The Times.
According to the Associated Press, "The Wagner forces have played a crucial role in Russia's war in Ukraine, succeeding in taking the city where the bloodiest and longest battles have taken place, Bakhmut. But Prigozhin has increasingly criticized Russia's military brass, accusing it of incompetence and of starving his troops of weapons and ammunition."
Prigozhin, 61, said he transitioned from a Putin ally to staging a serious rebellion because of an alleged Russian attack on Wagner forces in Ukraine.
Prigozhin claimed that Russia's chief of the General Staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, ordered airstrikes on Wagner's convoys, which were driving alongside ordinary vehicles. He asserted that the attack killed "a huge number of our comrades." Prigozhin alleged that Gerasimov made the order after a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The Russian Defense Ministry denied attacking Wagner troops.
Prigozhin, who claimed to have 25,000 troops under his command, said the Wagner Group would punish Shoigu in an armed rebellion and possible civil war.

True but it is war historically very not nice things tend to happen in conflict.
Hopefully Putin will get whacked and Russia troops will pull back to pre 2014 boarders.
