Somehow women eventually decided that this role equates to some sort of prison sentence, and wanted to be 'free' by joining the workforce.
So now women enter the workforce, and because the market dictates wages, the market had determined, over time, that if both partners are working, they no longer need to pay a wage that will allow one income earner to run a household, provide for family, etc.
So what have women accomplished by this when all is said and done, other than turn a household from requiring one working income into requiring two? Are they freer?
It would sound to me that raising kids, and having time to cook for them would be superior to having to slave away for her new boss Mr. Shekelburg.
Is slaving away for Mr. Shekelburg really preferable to running a household?

No. She didn't take my money. We maintained separate bank accounts though, mainly because she was bad with money, but she did work so had an income.
Although I did help her pay off her debts, and was quite generous towards her when we were together, it was all for naught since she indebted herself once again the minute we separated.

Ya, we had to put my Grandmother in one unfortunately. Mentally she was fine, but physically she was deteriorating and needed more assistance than we could provide.

What is ALR? And why wouldn't you at least farm a little to get the tax break? How big is the spread and couldn't you put some livestock on it?
It's complicated. I'll have to get more in depth with the ALR at a later date.
Basically, you have to show a minimum of Ag work sales every year to claim status.

They didn't decide anything.... the men went to Wars 1 and 2 and women had to go out and do the men's jobs where they formed adult friendships with the sisterhood and were paid wages....
Going back to the kitchen full time was no longer a desirable option for some.

I read that a Canadian woman can't claim property you own in a foreign jurisdiction as long as she's not a citizen there.
There were a couple of cases like that.
A Canadian guy had property in the US but his ex couldn't take it from him. And another case where a guy owned property in Spain & the Canadian court ruled in his favour
So perhaps it pays to have diverse property holdings in foreign locales
A 2nd passport might be beneficial too

I am forty nine years oid and pretty comfortable with my life. My girlfriend and I both own our own condos and neither of us is willing to sell ours. We go to Florida every winter. In about seven or eight years I am going to retire there. At least six months of the year anyway.

As drivers/operators, we are in a position to work these machines into old age. I chose this line of work knowing that I can do what I did at 20, at 80 if I have to. I'll run the loader, the dump truck, whatever... I'm not lifting shit, but I can operate your equipment with care.

Guess we're the same.
15 months ago I never encountered a skid steer, excavator, dozer, or dumper before...
But now I ride some of those and am really fucking good at some.

I've driven forklifts and heavy machinery around for most of my adult life... but hopping on a new machine while your boss gives you 3-5 minutes of instructions then leaves?
I find this shit hilarious.

Maybe two things depending on how the levers are placed.

I am forty nine years oid and pretty comfortable with my life. My girlfriend and I both own our own condos and neither of us is willing to sell ours. We go to Florida every winter. In about seven or eight years I am going to retire there. At least six months of the year anyway.
Sounds comfortable and I don't discredit you or yours... but life is a hard trip when you're living it in the moment or are expecting goodness to filter through based on your best life choices up to that moment.
I'm never going to retire... but I've never wanted to either.
I just want to drop dead when I least expect it....as long as all the people I love and care about are OK and also not too much put out about it.
But I'd really love the CCP landing troops in Australia near my end days...
I can drive anything....................

Modern loaders are easier because they only have one joystick that does everything.
You can only do one thing at a time with old loaders...
Maybe two things depending on how the levers are placed.
Modern front end loaders are easy as piss.
