Open two tabs.

Sign in to one.

Refresh the other tab.

Sign out of the first tab.

The content you want to see should still be there on the other tab.

Click on what you want to see and it's lets you as a guest.

Doesn't viewing as a guest limit your access to "mature" content?

What browser and ad blocker are you using?
Were you signed into YouTube when it happened?
I've never seen anything like that.

I'm always signed in.
Browser: Firefox Developer Edition
Ad blocker: AdblockPlus
Also: Ghostery

No ads. No popups. No TOS messages from YouTube.

I think they just hate you?

Ok quick update.

Your set up works fine for me.Videos run with me signed in and no ads but.......

If I open a second tab with youtube it then blocks me.

Weird but it does seem to work with just one tab.

Many thanks for offering your set up,

That's still odd; I quite often have more than one YouTube tab open (I'll go through the recommends and open the ones I want to watch in their own tabs, then close the initial tab and watch the clips I picked one after another).

Aside from comparing our FF Settings to identify any differences I don't know what else would do that.

Only Reaps could apparently piss off either an entire video sharing site or team of browser developers.

LoL

While the temptation to defeat YouTurd's increasingly onerous requirements does give one a certain smug satisfaction, I also kind of realise that the best way forward is to simply not watch it at all, getting my daily content from other sites.

I barely use YouTurd these days, unless it is to dig out something for the "what are you rocking out to" kind of threads. And very VERY infrequently, to watch some content creator that still hasn't got the memo and decamped to somewhere like Locals, Rumble or Bitchute.

YouTurd signed their death warrant when they partnered with the Lamestream media in preference to independent commentators. Fuck 'em.

I would love to put YouTube in my "Stuff I Used To Do" bin and I've felt that way since Google absorbed them into its blob of subsidiaries and cutouts.

To that end I've already mirrored my Misc.Derbis videos to Rumble and will continue to do so. I've even considered starting to post them only on Rumble but the sad truth is they don't (yet) have the reach that YouTube does, nor as wide a variety of content when I have the time to watch clips.

<holds up coffee mug>

Here's to the day YouTube deservedly becomes superfluous.

Whatever complaint people have about YT, it does offer variety.

MySpace mode? I'll drink to that.

I've toyed with the idea of checking the ToS of alternative sites to see how much YouTurd stuff I might archive. There's already a wealth of those aggregators on places like BitChute, Locals and Odyssee, I'm sure one or three more won'y break the server.

A variety that shrinks daily as they regiment their content in new and censorious ways.

I'm not exactly sure what that means.  On the good side it's already free with just some ads, or just $10 a month for hours of entertainment, meanwhile you spend less than 5mins eating your McDonalds combo.

Free? Au contraire my good man, it is you who are the product in that arrangement. Fine if you're okay with that, but my asking price to have my perception of the world warped by that publisher's content is significantly higher than the simple and willing consumption of what they consider is "safe" for me to be exposed to.

I don't eat McDonalds on the regular either. Once in a pink fit as a matter of fact. Just as it is with YouTurd, I find Maccas to be unfulfilling and roughly akin to whoring myself to corporate interests. I leave my takeout sustenance to the few remaining mom and pop operations that are happy for my custom and who, as has happened on more occasions that I can count, return that custom when they figure they need my particular skillset or input. And I am more likely to be entertained with the free exchange of ideas than I am being told to fuck up and chow down mindlessly on statist-approved pudding.

That's just how I roll, but you do you (or them as the case may be) and good luck to you.

If you're not satisfied with it's content, no one is pointing a gun at your head, just saying.

Edit:  Political vids are hard not to be bias, but there's still a lot of educational and entertaining videos out there worth watching.  And my bad, at least you don't watch it nor complain about the ads at the same time.

That's not even the part I take most exception to.
It's the gathering, bundling, and selling of our data that gives me the sads. It's the cooperation/collusion with government and corporate entities that gives me the angries.

I can spot and either ignore or disregard the propaganda and bullshit.

It's the stuff I have no control over that makes me look to other options which themselves aren't perfect but YouTube has been around long enough to become thoroughly corrupted and that was only hastened when they were acquired by Google, the most obnoxiously multi-tentacled intrusive monstrosity on the internet.

I didn't say there was. What I said was that they could cover up their overheads in pig shit. You know, really shovel the dung on them. Perhaps it might even cover up the stink of their corrupt partnership with the puppet regime they've been using to destroy the United States with these last three years.

I understand what you mean when it comes to ungrateful traitors with intent to spread lies and one sided content to undermine the US, I don't get it either how is this accepted even with freedom of speech laws.

Differential enforcement my friend. In a captured political landscape, such a tool is one of many that are used to establish one's dominance and hegemony over dissenting voices.

The US is captured of course. She can break free of it, it only requires the willingness to do so.

Agreed. I took it off my phone and access it via one of the third party internet browsers I have. Odysee has a better GUI, though both it and rumble (and Locals too) could do with a more robust buffering engine.

Bitslide on the other hand seem to tick pretty much every box if browsing content is all you're after. I don't imagine why it could be, but I can wander in and out of signal all day (and have done) and it rarely hiccups. Really good for when I'm out driving in the country and reception is spotty.
