Just watched "How the Gringo Stole Christmas" with comedian George Lopez.
He plays the patriarch of an immigrant family to East LA whose very American daughter returns home with her very white computer game designer bf.
Leif gets called Gringo on numerous occasions and the movie is light-hearted and touching at times. The rest of the family accepts him....except Lopez.
Until he does eventually...
My problem is that if anyone is a Gringo, it's everyone in Lopez's family bar his American born daughter and her bf Leif.
I've wrongly been called a Gringo in many a nation too and on the few occasions I've met an immigrant Mexican family to Australia, I only used the term once... because the parents were pieces of shit....and technically, they were gringos. :pardon:

I want to watch that.
I don't use that word. It sounds stupid.
IDGAF about being called racist names. They're probably right about me anyway.
