Title: There are two reasons for Canada's housing crisis: unsustainably high immigration levels and green regulations
Post by: DKG on January 21, 2024, 03:03:53 PM
Even if we eliminated all taxes on home builders in Canada, they cannot possibly build enough housing for 1.5 million newcomers per year. And green regulations at all three levels of government add $55, 000 to the cost of each detached single dwelling.

When Stephen Harper was pm our total intake immigrants, students, and refugees was about one third what it was in 2023. There was no housing shortage crisis on his watch. Cut annual immigration intake by two thirds and there is no housing crisis in Canada. Cut ineffective green construction rules and the price of new units drops

These are simple common sense solutions. And new taxes will not some how spur mass building and increase supply.

A housing crisis, a health care crisis, crowded schools, and infrastructure crumbling under the weight of a million and a half new people per year using it. This is the result of Trudeau losing control of immigration.

I am still very much pro immigration. An orderly flow of immigrants is essential because of our low birth rate. But, it has to be managed and the numbers manageable.

When we came to Canada in the 90's, the Chretien government accepted something something like one fifth the total number of migrants that True Dope does today.

Of all the disasters Trudeau has created this one is the worst. Mass immigration has created other problems besides a housing shortage like overwhelming hospitals and schools.

You have a handle idiot. Figure out how to use it if you want to post here.

It will not be quite as complicated as the abstruse task of registering was for you.

Sea Dummy should take a remedial grade 2 reading class. On second thought, Seamidget should not be withing 250 metres of grade 2 kids.
