A California bill proposed Thursday would ban all plastic shopping bags in the state come 2026. Democrat proponents argue that previous bans were not effective enough.

LOL! They banned paper bags to save the trees. They dont have anyone managing the forests anymore so they burn down. They could have been using the deadwood for paper bags, thereby eliminating plastic bags.
