Apparently, the pedophiles in Hollyweird are now hiring law firms in Brazoo to go after people who download their shitty movies on torrents
They enclosed a supposed "settlement proposal" asking for a 375 reals or around 80 dollars to "settle" the matter
Apparently, the studios have sued the ISPs in Brazoo and won, due to the changes that our demonic supreme court introduced, allowing even foreigners to get info on Brazilians. They want to get info on people posting "anti-democratic" speech (anything that's against the left is considered anti-democratic here these days) so they laxed regulations when it comes to getting info from social networks, websites and ISPs
Of course, the law here says that when it comes to downloads, unless they can prove you used the material to make money, it's not a crime and even if they wanted to come with a civil lawsuit, they would lose, because the judges here understand that the copyright law is the same and the few cases in the past were archived without going to judgement or were won by the defendant in all stances.
Lots of reports on the web from people who go the same letter, it has been going on since 2022 and apparently almost 100k people had their info given to these bastards.
I went to google reviews to check the law firm behind this garbage and they have a bunch of nasty reviews from other people who got the letters and I left mine too LOL

They can pound salt.
That's why I buy real DVD's and software, Rancid
That virtual stuff is crap.
Trouble is, the software developers and the studios are gradually taking this option away from the consumer so that they have to subscribe to software or Netflex now so you can no longer 'own' what these corporate giants consider 'their property'.
Don't know if you've noticed the trends lately, but stuff like vinyl and VHS tapes are selling for a premium now. Old software too that you could one time buy on a disc. Some extent, DVD's as well. All the old stuff that was 'real' has become very/extremely desireable now. People are now starting to realize that the were conned by buying into the subscriber model.
I've never liked subscriber stuff because you never get to own, watch or replay it at your own leisure.
I had an Adobe subscription to their software buy I got rid of it.
Decided to buy their competition's because at least I get to keep it without fear of being sued or cut off, eh?

Quote from: Lokmar on March 13, 2024, 03:25:59 PMcollector DVD's, josephine?
I got some Lokmar.
Like most of the movies the Beatles made.
All their music recordings in CD collection..which I got for FREE.
Frick, somebody in my neighborhood just threw them out and left them on the lawn. So I picked them up last summer. That was like $500 worth or more in almost mint condition?
$5 each for the Best of Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, Bob Dylan, etc etc.
That stuff is classic.

It's worse than that. Now they're taking away things that
you already paid for and no, you can't download it and you're not getting a refund either -

...really?
Jim Hendrix died in 1970
TheProwlerT I don't think there were CD's back then.
If you are referring to LP's or vinyl, yes there were those - 33 rpm.
I remember them quite well.
But CD players or music CD's didn't exist yet.
Just tape recorders and record players.

Things aren't going that well economically even for people at the top of the corporate ladder. When they fear for their own positions, they cut their own workforce.
Quote from: JOE on March 17, 2024, 12:55:01 PMthey cut their own workforce.
When a company cuts its workforce....
BUY!!(generally)
It usually means they are embracing new technologies, cutting costs, getting rid of the worst employees.

They are already doin' that
TheProwlerT .
Big organizations. Government sector too.
I think the Vancouver Airport recently replaced its dispatch with an app. So unless those people got relocated within the organization, must be 10-20 jobs gone just like that eh?
Trouble is these CEOs and upper management doin all these cuts may themselves one day be replaced by AI. After all who needs a board or senior partners when ai can do all of their jobs?
The introduction of AI mirrors what happened during the Great Depression too. Companies introduced lotsa new technologies and that exacerbated the unemployment situation back then. But it also led to social unrest, the rise of fascism and WWII.

People just need to learn to adapt to change.
There are too many stupid people in government and too many stupid people allowed to vote.
This will all work out after The Culling.

I disagree. A company that recently had Mckinsie Group come in and slash the fuck outta everything. The company is a fukin disaster now. No people to do anything.

Given this reality people should have an exit strategy as soon as they get hired by these corporations,
TheProwlerT Use them before they use you.
Rob their till before they rob yours.
