I have been talking with Blue Frost about the possibility of our two forums merging into one..
Where it would be hosted has not been discussed yet, but I can tell you it will not have Asian in it's name..
I want to know if you think this is a good idea or not?
hmmm . I'm guilty of not going to blue's forum for a while ... especially bad me as he is one of my favorite people
Not sure about merge, but might be a good idea. If merged, I suspect it would automatically be to his forum as he owns the address (domain) and does such a wonderful job - takes such pride (highly deserved) in it artistically and postingwise + he is there quite often to keep an eye on it and to keep it going

It might not matter anyway, because someone suggested to me that a couple of Frosty's posters don't want to merge because of me.

There is a some overlap Annie. Several of the posters there are also registered here. With the exception of oddstain, I like everyone on that forum. We seem to be a natural fit for each other.
lets analyze this proposed merger.....right now most of the posters on ACC also post on Frosty's forum and the same for them......except the few that are banned here but can post there and the ones here that find it to boring and don't want to be part of a Laura Ingils Wilder episode.....so what would you hope to gain by merging the sites.....that's what i cannot see
if i wanted to spend my days talking about someones medical condition i would spend more time on VF where you have an endless choice of posters to pick from....just can't see what the attraction is

Now if a technical aspect or if philosophical differences on how the forum should be run are getting in the way, not wishing to merge is understandable.I voted yes, but I don't care if you merge or not.
Can someone tell me what the forum is like because my impression from the main page is it's all kittens and rainbows and fluffy stuff.
Well, for one, drama is distinctly discouraged, Blue doesn't like it and tolerates only minor amounts of it. So stuff like my feud with Leo or your battle with Inky will not fly there.
Some of the topics are rather fuffy others are or can be interesting. The topics range from TV shows, firearms (Blue likes guns), health and nutrition to science based threads like early human DNA and space exploration. At least those are the ones I poke around in.
Gary Oak has his own section that contains all his crazy shit (some of it looks interesting) and there is a Guest section that's pretty lame.
Overall it is a very tame forum but that doesn't mean there is no room for serious debate.
I don't think it really matters at this point because I don't think a merger is going to happen.

lets analyze this proposed merger.....right now most of the posters on ACC also post on Frosty's forum and the same for them......except the few that are banned here but can post there and the ones here that find it to boring and don't want to be part of a Laura Ingils Wilder episode.....so what would you hope to gain by merging the sites.....that's what i cannot see
if i wanted to spend my days talking about someones medical condition i would spend more time on VF where you have an endless choice of posters to pick from....just can't see what the attraction is

Well, for one, drama is distinctly discouraged, Blue doesn't like it and tolerates only minor amounts of it. So stuff like my feud with Leo or your battle with Inky will not fly there.
Some of the topics are rather fuffy others are or can be interesting. The topics range from TV shows, firearms (Blue likes guns), health and nutrition to science based threads like early human DNA and space exploration. At least those are the ones I poke around in.
Gary Oak has his own section that contains all his crazy shit (some of it looks interesting) and there is a Guest section that's pretty lame.
Overall it is a very tame forum but that doesn't mean there is no room for serious debate.
I don't think it really matters at this point because I don't think a merger is going to happen.

The problem is not Frosty. I believe he personally would have no problem with more spirited threads. It's a couple of his posters that object to it and he always takes their side. You are right Renee, my feud with that idiotic twat evs would not fly on Frosty's forum,.
Any merger is prolly dead in the water. It's really too bad because with his health issues I can't see that forum lasting much longer anyway.
