A friend of mine immigrated to Canada from Russia, had a family here. No doubt if he'd stayed his son might well be fighting and dying today in Putin's Ukraine War. BTW he was a doctor in Russia who had it good. Despite all the hardships he had to endure in Canada hes much better off today than if he'd stayed there.

Whenever someone says "deep state" what you should *hear* is "permanent state" because that's what it really is.

It's the people who weren't elected and have no public oversight but they make policy and the actual decisions in regime after regime after regime. They planned, created, and perpetuate the systems we now have that most people would probably describe as 'broken' but in reality they're functioning exactly as they were designed which is to empower and protect imperialism and oligarchy.

The endemic corruption isn't unfortunate or the result of a few bad actors- it's a necessary and intentional part of their power structure and will never be fundamentally addressed by the uniparty.

So what's to be done?
There are no simple or painless solutions but the one thing they all have in common is entirely abandoning the republican/democrat duopoly whose sole reason for existence is to prevent revolutionary momentum by any means needed. Currently they rely on propaganda and gaslighting but when those no longer work they will, without a doubt, transition to more violently aggressive authoritarian measures.

In fact it's already begun.
