There were many candidates for president in 2018 and 2024. Navalny either polled distantly and/or performed poorly in both elections. He has never polled above 10%. Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and ultra-nationalist Leonid Slutsky all polled ahead or finished ahead of Navalny. The West made him out to have a real chance of defeating Putin when he couldn't even poll ahead of hard rightist Slutsky. Then again, all the English language Western media lead the world to believe Hairyass would win the US election.

I heard it was his second failed run for the presidency. Our media gave the impression he was a real challenger. He was a fringe candidate with no chance of winning.
