Title: On This Day in Music History
Post by: Herman on February 13, 2025, 10:17:10 PM
I think this band is just okay. But, their influence on hard rock and heavy metal cannot be denied.

On Friday, February 13, 1970 Black Sabbath released their self-titled debut album.

One of my fave metal/hard rock singers in Ronnie Dio who replaced Ozzy Osbourne.

I know the original Black Sabbath was very influential.

Here are the songs from their first record.
1. Black Sabbath
2. The Wizard
3. Behind the Wall of Sleep
4. N.I.B.
5. Evil Woman
6. Sleeping Village
7. Warning
8. Wicked World

What a dark song. And Ozzy's vocals are eerie.

Happy 55.

On this day in 1967 at the Astoria Theatre in London, Jimi Hendrix sets fire to his guitar for the first time.  He went to the hospital after the show with minor burns. During the rest of the tour, Hendrix made a habit of playing his guitar with his teeth, and he lights it up a few more times.

Amen.

Jimi Hendrix is synonymous with the guitar, but I don't know anything about his performances. It seems he was a pioneer showman.

The Clash released their debut album on this day in 1977.

Now, I don't like punk. It's too white and libtardy for my tastes. Besides they usually have 3 chords per song.

However, the Clash was influential. Later in their careers they became better musicians too.
