Alberta and Saskatchewan contribute over $20 billion in fiscal transfers to Ottawa while getting nothing in return. They would be better off as US states.
Why should Alberta and Saskatchewan stay and try to keep fighting for Canada to want and respect our resources when the US already does.
We would be as rich as Alaska and North Dakota. No state income tax, huge sovereign wealth funds and annual royalty rebate cheques.
I am ready to become an American.
Which one is the Fisty one?

Alberta can go first. They have four times our population.
I would support my former province becoming an American state. I have investments in Canada. I would love their value to be in greenbacks rather than loonies.
The way things are going, there won't be any recognizable nations or states.

True Dope has made Canada unrecognizable.
There are national divorce campaigns all over the West which are picking up steam.

With the exception of the Chretien/Martin era, the Federal Liberal Party has always been screw the West, we will take the rest.
The prairie provinces have had their hands tied by the Trudeau government. I would want a new arrangement within or even without Canada if I was a resident of either province.
Send us all Canadian bacon and maple syrup you have for free and we'll take in both provinces. That is non-negotiable.

It's disgraceful how government after government has treated those two provinces.
Canada must start acting like a unified country if they are going to stay one country.
Eliminate interprovincial trade barrier. Stop blocking resource development in one part of the country to buy votes in another. Even the carbon tax is more punitive in provinces that do not vote for Mr Trudeau.
Peter Zeihan gives the American perspective.
It's interesting, he states most of Canada would be a burden on Washington.

Adding a half dozen Mississippis. :crampe:
Yeah, Alberta and Saskatchewan are the only two provinces that would be a net benefit to the US. Most Canadian provinces are poorer than West Virginia.
Tariffs are not new to Sask and Alta. In the past 15 years Sask has paid $1 Billion and Alta $1 Trillion to Ont. Quebec, Maritimes. And they call it "equalization"

I don't give 2 fucks what happens in that Venezuela wannabe called Canada. I will never live there again.
However, I still have investments there. Of course I want them in US dollars.
