Shannon Hoon deserves an honorable mention. He was born Sept. 26, 1967. He died Oct. 21, 1995 ... less than four weeks after his 28th birthday:

Amen.

We could have a thread about Seattle rock stars who died too young.

Or, give 'em honorable mentions in this thread. Whatever you want, formosan.

I'm surprised no rappers are on the list.  You think with their gratuitous use of gunplay they should have a total lock on the list.  Tupac was 25 and Notorious BIG was 24 when they ate lead.

Very sad. I like that band. This is from Wikipedia:

"... Due to his alcoholism, Hopkins was dismissed from Gin Blossoms just before the band broke into the mainstream. His dismissal was controversial, however, and it only worsened his alcoholism and mental health issues. Hopkins died by suicide in December 1993 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 32. ..."

Rusty Day spent time as frontman for The Amboy Dukes, Cactus and Steve Gaines (of Lynyrd Skynyrd fame).  The following is from Wikipedia regarding his death:

"... Day was fatally shot at his home on June 3, 1982. His 11-year-old son, his dog, and Garth McRae were also fatally shot. The murder officially remains unsolved, although the Seminole County Sheriff's Office believe the victims may have known the perpetrator, and that the killings may have been drug-related. In 2011 and 2015, it was asserted that Ron Sanders, guitarist and bandmate in Uncle Acid & the Permanent Damage Band, was the perpetrator of the shooting. Sanders shot himself six weeks after the murders, when police surrounded his home on other matters. ..."

Rusty was 36 years old.  This is a cover song he sang that kicks some serious ass:

Amen.

So many successful musical acts call Seattle home. It would seem Portland should have produced more than they have.

The only Portland band that I know of is Everclear.
