Police charged a Washington State University instructor as well as a college staff member with assaulting a MAGA hat-wearing student of color on Feb. 28, according to a video report from Turning Point USA's Frontlines.
WSU junior engineering student Jay Sani — a conservative and big supporter of President Donald Trump — said in the clip that WSU instructor Patrick Mahoney and staff member Gerald Hoff ambushed and physically attacked him outside of the Coug, a campus bar. The attack was captured on surveillance video and is included in the Frontlines video report, which you can view here.
Sani said he was wearing a red Make America Great Again hat at the time of the attack and that Mahoney "ripped the hat off my head." In a Facebook post describing the attack, Sani said Mahoney "crumpled" up the MAGA hat and "threw it into the street, and yelled ... words to the effect of 'go get it bitch.'"
Sani said he threw his food at Mahoney's face but that Mahoney and Hoff ganged up on him, saying Mahoney "grabbed my chest and slammed it on the concrete as I was falling" and "punched me a bunch of times on the back" and that Hoff "kicked me a bunch of times, too."
The Frontlines report includes images of Sani's "multiple scrapes and bruises" resulting from the two-on-one beatdown.

Two teenagers who jumped former DOGE staffer Edward "Big Balls" Coristine avoided jail time after pleading guilty to simple assault in a Washington, DC, court Tuesday.
The boy and girl, both 15, from Hyattsvfille, Maryland, were sentenced to probation by a DC court judge, just over two months after the pair were arrested for the vicious Aug. 3 attack, WUSA9 reported.
The boy was handed a 12-month probation and allowed to return home under strict house arrest, while the girl was given a nine-month probation and remanded to a local youth shelter.

Footage of the incident seems to show the man-bunned teaching assistant Derek Lopez of El Paso, Illinois, confront student members of the conservative group — one of whom appears to have been smashed in the face with a pie — and motion toward their table stating, "Jesus did it. So you know I gotta do it, right?"
A pinned tweet on an X page that appears to belong to Lopez states, "A reminder to students who see TPUSA chapters on their campus: those are Nazis."
Lopez can be seen in the footage apparently yanking the table, then turning it over, then later yanking down flyers for the event. Lopez apparently admitted to flipping over the table in an Instagram post.
Hours after the incident, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon noted, "This is outrageous anti-speech conduct by a state employee. What's up @IllinoisStateU?!"
The following day, the university told Dhillon that the institution "recognizes the diverse perspectives represented on our campus," and indicated that Lopez, confirmed to be a graduate student and teaching assistant at the university, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

Jones dismissed Johnson's centrism and Gilbert's praise with crude contempt. His texts quickly turned menacing.
Jones called Gilbert "that POS." He wrote, "If those guys die before me, I will go to their funerals to piss on their graves." He added that if he could shoot Hitler, Pol Pot, and Gilbert but had only two bullets, Gilbert would get "two bullets to the head" — "every time," he said.
He accused Gilbert and his wife, Jennifer, of "breeding little fascists" and wished that Gilbert's children would "die in their mother's arms." Coyner urged him to stop. He should have heeded her advice.

The FBI was able to trace the post to 30-year-old Tyler Maxon Avalos, who lived at an apartment in St. Paul, according to an affidavit.
The post made several references to anarchism, according to the FBI. One of those was a link to a book titled, "An Anarchist FAQ Book."
Even more alarming, Avalos has a long criminal history. In 2022 he was convicted of felony stalking, and in 2016 he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault. Also in 2016 he was convicted of felony third-degree domestic battery, which was a strangulation charge that was reduced.

Trans teen Trinity Shockley admits to plotting Valentine's Day mass shooting at Indiana high school
A mass shooting-obsessed trans teen has admitted to plotting a Valentine's Day massacre at her Indiana high school.
Trinity Shockley, 18, is set to plead guilty to felony conspiracy to commit murder in return for a maximum of 12.5 years behind bars plus five years of probation, according to the Morgan County Prosecutor's office.
Shockley — who authorities said identifies as male and goes by the name Jamie, but also uses she/her pronouns, according to 13News — was arrested in February after police received a tip that she had access to an AR-15, had purchased a bullet proof vest, and was obsessed with mass shooters.
When officers searched Shockley's home, they found a twisted shrine to Parkland Florida mass shooter Nikolas Cruz, and other sick mass shooters.
They also found evidence that Shockley was planning a shooting at her own school — Mooresville High School — and was planning to stage it to coincide with the anniversary of the Parkland shooting.
In addition to jail time and probation, Shockley is also barred from researching school shooters for life – and will be required to download monitoring software on all electronic devices to be kept accountable.
Shockley will be barred from ever owning a gun, and will have to pay for mental health counseling.
The teen is expected to make the guilty plea in court on Nov. 24.

It has long been abundantly clear that there is a strong appetite for political violence and ideological uniformity on the left. A new Young America's Foundation poll released on Tuesday indicated that this is indeed an intergenerational problem.
Shortly after the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Echelon Insights conducted a YAF survey of 1,021 registered voters ages 18-29 nationwide.
On the topic of Kirk's murder on Sept. 10, respondents were asked which of the following two statements they agreed with more: "There is absolutely no justification for murdering someone over their viewpoints" or "Kirk's viewpoints mean he brought this violence upon himself to an extent."
Seventy percent of respondents answered that there was no justification for murdering a person over his views. While 90% of conservatives and 75% of moderates answered that there was no justification, 42% of self-described liberal respondents suggested that Kirk had it coming.
Young liberals' responses to a follow-up question helped clarify that a great many just don't want conservatives to be able to articulate their views in public.
When asked whether they believed "we are better off when strongly conservative viewpoints are able to be voiced and shared in the public square," 53% of liberals said conservative viewpoints should be "shut down or kept out of the public square."
