Title: Did Pierre Poilievre actually run a good campaign?
Post by: JOE on May 02, 2025, 01:57:13 AM
I thought he did.

And I say this as a Liberal voter.

Unfortunately he had a lot of bad luck.

Ironically besides Donald Trump the one who threw a wrench in his plans was Jagmeet Singh who continued to throw his support behind Justin Trudeau & the Liberals which allowed them to install Mark Carney at oh so such a timely moment.

It was timing which didn't favor Poilievre. Plus the Liberals being the ruling party, Poilievre had no control over when the election was called.

Oddly there were times I agreed with him & he made some valid points & criticisms about the Liberals. But my major concern is he couldn't handle Trump. Again Trump was some dark horse whom Poilievre had no control over. Everything Trump said was not Poilievres fault. But unfortunately for him he ended up paying the price for people & circumstances he did not create.

Strange election & a bizarre turn of events which allowed the Liberals to land a lucky punch in an election they should have otherwise lost.
