She's not going to ban SMP but she does chuck Odi into the shitter a lot which is progress!
The most common reason I have seen in the past for sanctioning members is if their opinions on issues conflicted with the vision of the forum..
The memebee forums are different in that they are general and don't have a specialized purpose like the forums I used to post on..
Sanctioning seems to occur if one is criticial of the admin and mods..
Not here though, I don't have a problem if anyone doesn't like me personally..

I've been on my share of nasty forums as well but VF is the only forum that I've come across where you have a moderating team that is discouraged from moderating. It's almost comical in it's blatant ineffectiveness and it stems from the management. That kind of management actually encourages hostility and vitrol to be thrown around in a liberal fashion.
I hate to say it but when dealing with an ass load of social misfits like you have on VF you almost have to run the place with an iron fist, otherwise you end with a big mass of out of control shit.

I wouldn't call it heavy handed. If evs was following some kind of guidelines with her reasons for banning I would agree with you but in fact her actions have no rhyme or reason. There is a fine line between loyalty and enabling. However, you can't tell an adult who or how to be friends with.

The problem is that she doesn't allow criticism of herself on her own forum, so this has become the de facto bitching department. Trust me, most of the VF crowd are regular lurkers here.
I know they lurk around this place like crazy. It's kind of hard to hide it because whenever one of them gets offended at something that is said here it almost always becomes a topic of conversation on VF.
I feel this is true too Renee..
We should keep this in mind when posting.
