There's another economist who said that too. Dr. James Thorne who runs a hedge fund called Wellington Management who also thinks the US Dollar has a future:

But....I decided to buy a thousand dollars or so of US money market funds...for starters.
Might even buy more.
That being said, the wobbly Stock Market seems to indicate that we are headed for more difficult economic times. So having gold, silver & yes,,, US dollars on hand might be a good strategy or idea.
