Hello Superchecker, thank you for posting this helpful information..

Are these full time positions with benefits or are they temporary eventually leading to full time?

The reason I ask is because this is how some hiring is done with provincial employees here..

I originally was hired as casual or temporary before I became full time.

And NOW they are also looking for Part time Temporary (GET'S YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR!) CUSTOMER INFORMATION CLERKS, $22 an hour PLUS an extra 22% while "Temp" status instead of benefits...

Call centre is located near Gateway Station in Surrey, and is open every day of the year from 6:30am til 11:30pm...

www.translink.ca/drive and THEN "Coast Mountain Bus Company".... This type of opportunity does pop up a few times each year... GREAT way to get into the company and have access to Internal Job vacancies...

All "Conventional" drivers start out at and get trained out of the Vancouver Transit Centre which is located on Hudson St & SW Marine Drive in Marpole...

As ones seniority rises, then options of switching depots can happen... There are 6 depots in the system: Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver; Port Coq; Surrey & Richmond...

In a year or so: North Van will close, and move into Burnaby. Most existing Burnaby work will move to a new Hamilton Depot on the Richmond-Queesnborough border...

Community Shuttle is a little different: They are based out of Oakridge, Surrey & Port Coq... Drivers can work any or all 3 depots...

When Hamilton finally opens in a year or so, Oakridge will also close and relocate to Hamilton...

Head office is located near Sapperton Station...

Customer Information Call centre HIRING THIS WEEK! $22 an hr!!is located near Gateway Station...

While I am Pro Transit, I am not so much Pro TransLink...

I am leaning towards voting NO, mostly because I think we are being nickel and dimed to death..

Where does it end? Taxes and fees, taxes and fees...

Thank you Superchecker, it is nice to read the opinion of someone who works for Vancouver transit..

We are pro transit too and we take buses and the C-Train any chance we can..

But I do understand about the constant cost increases, sometimes one has to say enough is enough..

It is so relaxing compared to Calgary's traffic nightmares and that doesn't include our parking prices which are the highest of any major city in Canada.
