Maduro and his wife were being taken to New York to face charges, Trump told Fox News. Maduro is under a federal drug trafficking indictment and "will soon face the full wrath of American justice," Attorney General Pam Bondi said.
As far as that night was concerned, it was really genius. What they did is genius. Democrats, maybe they'll take a shot, you know, they'll take a shot — all they do is complain. They don't talk about — they should say, you know what, we did a great job. We're stopping drugs from coming into this country and nobody's been able to do it until we came along. But they should say great job. They shouldn't say, oh, gee, maybe it's not constitutional, you know, the same old stuff that we've been hearing for years and years and years.

The reported arrest of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro triggered immediate criticism from political commentators and international observers. Much of the backlash focused on legality, sovereignty, economic fallout, and accusations of Western overreach. A closer examination of these claims shows many rest on selective outrage and misplaced priorities.
Key Points:
• Sovereignty is not a shield for criminal regimes.
Maduro has long been indicted for narco-terrorism and accused of widespread human-rights abuses. International law does not grant impunity to leaders who operate criminal networks while brutalizing their own population.
• Human-rights abuses are central, not secondary.
Under Maduro's rule, Venezuela has seen political imprisonment, torture, extrajudicial killings, and a humanitarian collapse that forced millions to flee. These realities are often minimized or ignored by critics focused on process over justice.
• Economic fears are morally hollow.
Concerns about oil prices, pensions, or market disruption prioritize financial convenience over accountability for mass suffering. Justice for victims cannot be subordinated to short-term economic comfort.
• "Imperialism" claims distort the issue.
Framing Maduro's arrest as Western imperialism ignores the fact that his survival depended on backing from authoritarian regimes like Russia, China, and Iran. Ending protection for criminal rulers strengthens—not undermines—the principle of self-determination for oppressed people.
• Executive authority is not unprecedented.
U.S. presidents have historically acted against internationally indicted figures tied to transnational crime and security threats. The action fits within established executive powers, particularly when multilateral institutions have failed.
Bottom Line:
The backlash to Maduro's arrest reveals a troubling double standard—one that demands restraint from democracies while excusing tyranny, corruption, and mass abuse. Accountability for authoritarian leaders is not chaos; it is overdue justice.

Nicolas Maduro out of power is good and bad for my former country. It will cut imports of drugs. However, Venezuelan oil will now be able to compete with Canadian heavy oil reducing the price Alberta gets.
On the other hand, China owns a lot of Venezuela's reserves. Beijing is not happy about their muppet Maduro out of power.
I see Canadian Conservvative Party leader Pierre Poilivere supported the liberation of Venezuela. No surprise, he has balls.
What was surprising is Mark Carney given tacit approval to the arrest of Maduro. Maybe he does want to get a trade deal with the US.

Hey, I know for centuries the Spaniards have been blamed for the "spanish inquisition"
but if you slice and dice through all the Joo lies you will see the truth
What's the first letter in the word
Inquisition?
If you said I you would be correct
Now, what's the first letter in the word
Israel ?
If you said I you are on a roll. 2 for 2
now think about it, if BOTH words begin with I then it is totally reasonable to conclude that Israel are actually the ones behind the Inquisition.

A significant portion of Venezuelan socialist leader Nicolás Maduro's security team was killed in the U.S. operation that led to the leader's capture, Venezuelan Defense Minister General Vladimir Padrino López in a news conference on Jan. 4.
While López didn't provide a figure of the casualties, he backed the Venezuelan Supreme Court declaration that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez serve as interim president and said armed forces were activated across the country.
He said in a live video address that "much of" Maduro's "security team" as well as soldiers and civilians, were killed in the operation, according to a translation from Spanish.

How has more government control of the economy worked for the Liberal Party of Canada. Your country was the third best country to live in twelve years ago and now it is about thirtieth.

This military operation proved that forever wars — prolonged occupations that keep US troops overseas and American tax dollars invested in foreign affairs — are a choice, not a must.
I've been reading Chinese online news. Beijing is starting to sweat over this. By cutting off China's access to Venezuelan (and potentially Iranian) oil while Russian supplies remain heavily sanctioned, the U.S. has severely restricted China's fuel options.

I wonder if the Trump administration acted to remove Maduro because they had intel Beijing was going to act to unify Taiwan with the Mainland.

Australia's prime mincer will no doubt be speed dialing Xi Xing Ping Pong with offers of crude fellatio and reach arounds. I read Australia has several LNG export facilities. Do they have large reserves of crude oil too?

It would appear that China placed a lot of their energy supply needs in the Venezuela basket. But, they know that Maduro's regime held on by a thread. At some point he would have been toppled from within.
China has a plan B for energy. I am certain of that.

No doubt China was part of the reason they arrested Maduro.
Polymarket has decided it is not willing to provide payouts to those who said (with their wallets) that the capture of Maduro was indeed an invasion.
"This market refers to U.S. military operations intended to establish control," it reads. "President Trump's statement that they will 'run' Venezuela while referencing ongoing talks with the Venezuelan government does not alone qualify the snatch-and-extract mission to capture Maduro as an invasion."
It further added, "This market will resolve to 'Yes' if the United States commences a military offensive intended to establish control over any portion of Venezuela between November 3, 2025, and January 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to 'No'."

Precisely. The US has walked back the Monroe doctrine since 1990 coinciding with the fall of the USSR. Trump is reinforcing it because of the rise of China's influence in our hemisphere.

I believe that too.
The Justice Department unsealed a 2020 indictment and a superseding indictment listing Nicolas Maduro and his wife among several defendants, including his son, charging them with drug smuggling and gun possession crimes.
There is a degree of legal precedent for this. When the U.S. invaded Panama in 1989, William Barr – then head of the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel and eventually Mr. Trump's attorney general – wrote a controversial memo claiming that the FBI could legally arrest the country's dictator, Gen. Manuel Noriega. The memo concluded that the president has "inherent constitutional authority" to order the FBI to arrest individuals for violations of U.S. law, "even if those ... arrests are not consistent with international law."
The president can ignore the U.N. charter "and other unexecuted treaties or treaty provisions that have not become part of the domestic law of the United States," the memo claimed.
Legal memos are advisory and have no precedential force in the courts. No Trump administration official appears to have publicly cited the memo, which legal pundits are widely discussing as a legal justification that the administration may cite.
There is also historical precedent for U.S. presidents to order military strikes without congressional approval. In 2011, President Barack Obama authorized airstrikes in Libya, and in 1999, President Bill Clinton coordinated an air campaign in Serbia with other NATO countries.
Awkward: Biden Forced To Pay Trump The $25 Million Bounty For Capturing Maduro
WILMINGTON, DE — With the successful military operation to topple the authoritarian Venezuelan government, former President Joe Biden was notified that he was being forced to pay Donald Trump the $25 million bounty his administration had put in place for capturing Nicolas Maduro.
In the waning days of his presidency, Biden increased the U.S. government's bounty on Maduro to $25 million, which the former president was informed he would now have to pay out personally to President Trump for bringing the dictator into custody.
"This is a bunch of malarkey, jackass," Biden reportedly said after being told to pay Trump. "I wasn't even the one who decided to raise the bounty. I wasn't the one in charge of any of that. I was just the president. Now, Trump gets the money. Can you believe that? The idea... that this... this... this dog-faced... the guy who... when all of the... he didn't even... didn't... anyway..."
Inside sources said Biden seemed unconcerned with being able to come up with the money to pay the bounty. "Get Hunter on the horn," Biden reportedly said. "Tell him the Big Guy needs his cut of the... his cut of the... of the... my share of the Ukrainian... the Ukrainian thing that... from that Ukrainian fella who gave us the... gave us... the stuff. Tell him to wire me some cash. Sell a painting if he has to. Tell him I need it before I go to bed at six o'clock. Breeharbingsarnit."
At publishing time, Biden had reportedly asked Trump's administration if the bounty payment could be made in the form of classified documents.

Fuck China. :yeahhh:
The official position of Canada — along with every sane observer — is that Maduro stole the 2024 election, as he had the one before it. Last January, Canada formally recognized opposition candidate Edmundo González as the president-elect, citing overwhelming evidence that he had received the most votes.
Western condemnation of Maduro was so universal that Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize last year, which she dedicated to "the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause.
You'd have to have a heart of stone not to rejoice with the Venezuelan people celebrating their liberation from Maduro, or avoid laughing at the leftists fulminating at Trump's "unprecedented" incursion into a sovereign Latin American nation. "Unprecedented," except for the precedents set by Presidents Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, Wilson, Taft, and Teddy Roosevelt.
The Cuban commie regime will fall soon. They got all their oil from Maduro.

100%
Taking economic marching orders from a band of idiots that actually believe you can "make buses, rent and food free" or nearly free, in a city in midst of an economic decline, where 20% of the tax revenue has already vanished due to policies which were far more moderate than those being proposed now is ludicrous. And the next shoe hasn't even fallen yet! Inside of 4 years you will see another 20% of businesses and top earners vacate the city in favor of friendlier environments.
these are spoiled brats who never worked a job, balanced a check book or in any way contributed to building an economic engine of any kind. Even a theoretical one.
They do realize one thing though. that the prospect of promising free rides in areas littered with human waste will certainly galvanize the bums who have nothing to lose if society collapses and everything to gain if the dwindling population of positive contributors somehow manages to shoulder the burden.
NYC is just one house of cards on the cusp of collapse and it will be both tragic and glorious to watch it go down.

So I just finished watching the video and this guy is spot on.
of course this operation was about natural resources and the impact they have on our standing on a global stage. I'm not a afraid to say that this is 100% about plundering natural resources and I am equally supportive of the fact that it is. this is not about freedom, nation building, friendship blah blah fucking blah. It's about us leveraging the military might we spend TRILLIONS of dollars on in furtherance of our own survival. And I am very ok with that.
I am 100% in support of the USA being the type of imperialist empire that puts the welfare of it's own citizens and way of life ahead of anyone else and is willing to use our military might in furtherance of that objective. I don't give the first fuck if we conquer a country because we can and because they are sitting on vast resources we need to sustain the way of life we enjoy now.
what is the alternative? Allow our enemies to do it instead? This is where libtards are so fucking stupid it defies belief!
you have sports stars and holly weirdos coming out in full throttle globalist dick sucking mode against our administration that is ensuring the longevity of their own interests! their own ways of life that are bloated, unearned and quite frankly, would not be available to them anywhere else in the world. It's unbelievable to watch as these morons lobby and advocate for an alternative empire that would have zero hesitation to leave them curled up in a fetal position alongside the nearest dumpster if given the opportunity
For how long have asswipes who wouldn't be worth 1/100000th of their current wealth in any dictatorial society they advocate for been bashing the US in one form or another?
Does anyone believe Kapernick would be worth a fraction of what he is now and be allowed to kneel during the Chinese version of the national anthem?
fucking ignorant and ungrateful brats. All of them.
