Title: Jehovah's Witness followers

The other day i had 2 Women knock on my door who were Jehovah's Witness followers, I listen to what they had to say then politely told them i was a christian and i wasnt interested.





im curious if they do this sort of thing all over the country? Do they do this in the USA also? I find it odd they have to go door to door "spreading the word of god"



What are your thoughts?

Yes they do it all over.



They are usually very sincere and polite so it makes it very hard to tell them to get lost. I usually just stand there, smile, take there literature, say thank you and then tell them I'm a pagan and that I have a virgin tied up in the basement waiting to be sacrificed so I'm really busy and I'm not interested at this time.

IT depends on what you consider Christian. I guess it's Christian if you consider Mormonism and shit like that Christian. They believe in a Christian type God and the heart after but I don't think they celebrate the Eucharist or believe in the Holy Trinity.

Fash and Keeper, I like you both because I agree with you both most of the time. However, this will be one instance where I will not agree with you. There is the internet superhighway where you will find resources that will vouch for the fact that all those groups you mentioned, Fash, are indeed Christians. For example, United Church of Christ mentions "Christ" because they are following Christ's teachings so that makes them CHRISTians. Maybe not to you but the truth is, they are Christians. I trust you will find supporting evidence of this so I won't bother in explaining it to you. They are all Christians.

I was referring to the United Church of Christ. You only wrote United Church so how would I have known that you were speaking of the United Church of Canada? Any denomination that follows the teachings of Christ are Christians.

I grew up in a Fellowship Baptist church and attended Christian school..



I was a church kid, but I was not a Christian..



My salvation came later.

Christians come from all those religions but I strongly believe it applies to the true Christian who believes in Jesus Christ as his/her lord and savior whether they were born a Protestant or a Catholic or a Jehovah's Witness. Jehovah's Witness followers go door to door to witness to people about their faith, just like the Mormons who are also called the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These people go door to door in hopes of bringing you to the fold to "save" you from a life of sin. Their goal is to bring as many people into their faith by "witnessing" to you and make you a "born again" Christian. When they succeed in bringing you into their fold, they consider you "saved." I remember a couple years ago they also had a small child with them, He was trying to explain to me but hhe was so nervious, bless his heart he was so cute.

Salvation is not something you inherit like height or eye color Azhya..



Getting saved is about fully accepting His death as the sufficient sacrifice for your sins (John 3:16), and fully trusting Him alone as your Savior (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)..



Becoming a Christian is all about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ..



A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through faith, is what makes a person a Christian.



Churches that tell their flock any different are heretical.

Those who consider themselves Christians because they have been saved and do not consider Christians who have not declared themselves born again engage in some kind of "religious bias" against those Christians who have not been born again because they consider themselves better than them. It isn't fair but I've seen this all throughout my life. It's annoying and irritating. It's like a social/class conflict.

You cannot know Jesus with out being saved. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

I don't believe that you are a Christian only if you are dunk in water. That makes me laugh. It is the individual who chooses to have Christ dwell in him/her who is a Christian in spirit and at heart.

If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him..

We agree on that. However, many aspects of your belief and faith are dictated to you by your church which I may not agree to. I don't go to your church so I do not consider your church to be the AUTHORITY on Christianity. I believe in my own church that's why I am not following your church. Nevertheless, our basic beliefs ought to be similar since we're both protestants.

Jehovah's believe that when they die, they go into the ground.  When the end of the world happens, God will call forth 144,000 of his most faithful followers to Heaven.



It is their belief that they must spread the word of God to as many people as possible. If they don't, they can actually be kicked out of their religion for being a non-believer.



And yes, they are everywhere. I had a few of them hunting me down in South Korea and recently spotted a few in Mexico.

When they come to my door i dont say a word but point to my no soliviting sign and when they look i shut the door. The sign is right next to my door lol. My daughter on the other hand will tell them shes a devil worshipper and in the middle of a seance.... Lol

I kid you not...  To stop these people from coming, you literally have to tell them to, "Get the fuck off my property, and never step foot on it again."  You must state this in a firm voice, to their face.

Telling a religious person you believe in Satan is not a deterrent BTW.  It's easier to convert a Satan worshiper than it is an Athiest because they already believe in God.

If you substitute the words 'Satan the Devil' with the words 'psychological problem' it works almost every time. =))
