Canada Loves the Poop Emoji

A new report on worldwide emoji usage finds a new kind of national character. (Americans, by the way, adore the eggplant.)

The French love the heart emoji.

Canadians prefer pizza—and the pile of poo.

And Americans? The land that gave the world the iPhone, the Declaration of Independence, and the Kinsey Report prefers emoji that depict technology, royalty, and... eggplants.

Appalachians are a long mountain range (even runs into Canada).

I've been on road trips all over the US too as far as Rhode Island to the east to El Paso down south, through the southwest to San Francisco and up through Nevada to Wyoming through the Dakotas, even up north to the upper peninsula and back. I've been through the southern states as well, stopping at Gatlinburg among many stops. Drove through the long and lonely Natchez Trace Parkway from the Appalachian to the Smoky Mountains. Yes, I've seen backwoods alright.

Its a pity you aren't Australian...

//http://au.askmen.com/top_10/entertainment/top-10-reasons-why-its-good-to-be-australian.html

No other country in the world has more things that will kill you. No other country in the world requires you to wear sunblock on Xmas Day.

No other country in the world has the platypus, koala, kangaroo, bilby, wallaby and salt water crocodile (well, some have the saltie, but we only lend it to them).

No other country in the world has a beach that warns you not only of crocodiles, and sharks...but box (portugeuse man o'war) jellyfish. But hey...you got to take risks sometime.

No other country on the world is so laid back, friendly, warm, hospitable and helpful...well, maybe Canada...but that's it.

Canada is nothing special.  Most of it is a frozen wasteland.

Honestly?  We'd be better off joining the US, so we can travel freely to where we want to be, and live there.

"Canadian Pride" goes a little too far sometimes.  There are better places to live in the US.

Of course, much of North Western Europe is superior to both in many regards, but that is for another day...

*The echidna is such a unique animal that it is classified in a special class of mammals known as monotremes, which it shares only with the platypus. The echidna lays eggs like a duck but suckles its young in a pouch like a kangaroo. For no apparent reason, it may decide to conserve energy by dropping its body temperature to 4 degrees and remain at that temperature from 4 to 120 days. Lab experiments have shown that the echidna is more intelligent that a cat and it has been seen using its spikes, feet and beaks to climb up crevices like a mountaineer edging up a rock chimney.

*Purple wallaby - The Purple-neck Rock Wallaby [Petrogale Purpureicollis], inhabits the Mt Isa region in Northwest Queensland. The Wallaby secretes a dye that transforms its face and neck into colours ranging from light pink to bright purple.

*The Fierce Snake or Inland Taipan has the most toxic venom of any snake. Maximum yield recorded (for one bite) is 110mg. That would probably be enough to kill over 100 people or 250,000 mice.

*The Wombat deposits square poos on logs, rocks and even upright sticks that it uses tomark its territory.

Very interesting SPECTRE.

Quote from: "SPECTRE"... No other country in the world has a beach that warns you not only of crocodiles, and sharks...but box (portugeuse man o'war) jellyfish. But hey...you got to take risks sometime...

I have seen signs warning swimmers not to swim in lakes and beaches saying alligator danger, shark danger, jelly fish danger in Texas and louisiania and Florida when my family drove from San Diego in california to Jaksonville in Florida.
